With over 130 kilometers of shoreline dividing the furthest reaches of the Pacific and the beginning of the East China Sea, we have the ability to hit the best possible sea conditions to ensure our members and customers have a forever memorable paddling experience. Okinawa provides kayakers with flowing currents, deep mangroves and rivers, sandy shores and rocky coral-cliff lined coasts and paddle
throughs ideal for rock hopping. Geoff Hunt founded Padaloha in 2005 with the mission of providing basic sea kayaking tours and instruction while using quality gear. We are seeking those who are looking to do more than just go to the reef line. We want to put nice gear in your hands or on your back, and we want you to have a fantastic beginning kayaking experience. If you already an experienced kayaker, you will love going out with us because of the quality of our gear and the beautiful sites we paddle. Geoff has been paddling since the 1980's and coaching water sports since 1988. Matthew Mays founded Okinawa Kayaking Club on 20 March 2011 with the intent of bringing Kayakers in Okinawa together to share experiences, skills, areas of interest for paddling, buy/sell/trade gear amongst each other, and share DIY ideas. Padaloha has been been joined by 2 very skilled paddlers, Geoff and Renee Rhinehart from Florida. The main theme of our tours is to help paddlers have a unforgettable paddling experience while building or practicing foundational skills. This gives our paddlers the starting point to grow from a novice to an advanced paddler. We generate an exciting atmosphere through our passion for the sport. Geoff, Renee and I blend strength, finesse and balance of the body, mind and spirits of sea paddling while exploring where the oceans meet the land. On 3 February 2013 Padaloha & Okinawa Kayaking Club merged to form Okinawa Kayaking Club - Padaloha Sea Kayakers (OKC-Padaloha). We use high-quality glass fiber or composite boats and gear, the same boats and equipment that we trust our lives with. As OKC - Padaloha grows, we bring in other locals and guides we regularly paddle with. We actively train local talent to be solid leaders and coaches. We try to incorporate a variety of the highest quality gear, paddles, PFD's, safety equipment, and higher end paddles, so that our members/clients have a chance to try a variety of quality gear available to them. The touring element of OKC - Padaloha is not just scenic explorations, but guided outings that allows you to gain experience with the ocean. We will help you learn how to read it and respect its power while safely gaining knowledge and experience. Our guide service and local knowledge allow us to know when and where to go for a fun, challenging day.
