Ashnil mara camp has 40 luxury tents located in Masai mara national reserve near the mara river which is well known for wildebeests’ migration. Serena Mombasa is one of my favorite places to unwind. My very first experience with them was a lasting one. It was worth the most scary flights ever. ( that's a story for another day). As soon as my family and I got out of the car we received a very warm welcome from the concierge to the management. It was awesome to see that even being Kenyan we were treated the same way the foreigners were treated. Our luggage was received well, the tall cool glasses of fresh passion juice ( I can see the deep yellow goodness right now) and moist towels were so refreshing I almost hugged the staff that brought them to us. At the front desk, the employees were just as welcoming and very customer oriented ( very refreshing). To add icing to this whole thing was our rooms. Because we had children we were put in an awesome room away from the evening entertainment and oh my the most serene part of the hotel. One thing that I would love to mention is the Jahazi grill that served the freshest sea food ever and the ambience at the grill at night was soo romantic with the Indian ocean as the back drop and the sound of the waves it just makes for a relaxing atmosphere. The roof top lounge was one of my most favorite places to enjoy a night cap with my spouse. ( some one tell me if that grey little parrot is still by the entry way to the lounge/ dinning room , one naughty fellow)
One thing I miss though is the breakfast MAHAMRI and mbaazi. If I could take the young lady home to teach me how to make the mahari za kujirarua Lord I would never stop eating. Serena Mombasa has been a good experience for me and my family over the years, never disappointed in any way. I hope that this will be the same experience for any of our clients that would love to visit Serena. I will share a mix of pictures of this place that I love to call my little hideaway.
