Samburu offers great wildlife viewing and four of the Big Five are present. Rhinos are absent, but big herds of elephant cross the reserve. He told us that he feels privileged to be amongst such beautiful wild animals and to meet so many different people from around the world! Peak season is the best time to easily spot all the Biug 5 on your African safari. Peak safari season runs from about July to October across Africa. This coincides with the continent’s cool, dry winter.

WHY IS THIS THE BEST TIME?
👉The lack of rain also means that ponds, streams, puddles and smaller water courses dry up, forcing animals to congregate around the remaining large lakes and rivers.
👉The lack of rain means the vegetation dries up and thins out, literally making it easier to see a rhino or buffalo compared to the long, dense grass and heavy foliage of summer. This particularly applies to leopards, which spend much of their time in trees.

A MOTHER'S LOVE....❤🦒
A mother is your first friend, your best friend, your forever friend. When you are looking at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know. They will always have your back, no matter what!

HERE ARE 6 WEIRD FACTS YOU PROBABLY DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT GIRAFFE BIRTHS:
🦒Mums are pregnant for a long time, a whole15 months! That's 6 months longer than humans.
🦒Giraffes give birth standing up. Newborn giraffes enter the world in a sort of ‘superman’ position: front legs and head first, followed by their body, and then back legs.
🦒Newborns are huge! Standing at around six feet, or 1.8 metres, tall and weighing around 50 to 70kg.
🦒The herd has lots of babysitters. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and the same can be said for the offspring of these lofty mammals.
🦒Babies are up straight away!
🦒Giraffe babies inherit spot patterns from their mothers.

IT'S A BOUNCING BABY WHITE RHINO! NEW YEAR WILD BLESSINGS AND GOOD NEWS TO WILDLIFE CONSERVATIONISTS:

📍Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya.

We are ecstatic to report the sighting of a two-day-old, bouncing white rhino calf in Lake Nakuru National Park by Kenya Wildlife Service. The gender of the newest addition to the square-lipped species is unknown, but its mother has been identified as the lovely, fertile Maimuna. The father is unknown as often happens within the wild.
The calf was spotted by KWS’s eagle-eyed Corporal Kirwa and Ranger Naibieo as they dutifully patrolled the world-renowned and immensely successful Rhino Sanctuary in Lake Nakuru National Park
