The rock hyrax, also called dassie, Cape hyrax, rock rabbit, and coney, is a medium-sized terrestrial mammal native to Africa and the Middle East and this specific kind enjoys living above 3000 m.

I think you should know something about lake Ellis...
There are over 20 glacial lakes and tarns on Mt Kenya including Lake Alice, Lake Michaelson, Lake Ellis, and Lake Rutundu.

The 28-acre beautiful Lake Ellis is the third largest after Lake Alice (48 acres) and Lake Michaelson (30 acres).

Located at the base of Mugi Hill at an elevation of 3,470m ASL, the lake was named after Thomas Evelyn Scott-Ellis, the first European to reach the lake in 1927.

The lake is the furthest point you can drive or cycle up Mt Kenya. It is also a popular camping stopover for those climbing Mt. Kenya via Chogoria route.

Notably, the trail offers stunning views of the Mt. Kenya peak on a clear day with the splendour of Nithi falls being an icing to the cake for any adventurous. soul.
