Warthogs are much more than their tusks and ‘warts’! These adaptive animals live in social family groups called sounders, typically led by a dominant female. Females are fiercely protective, often seen charging predators if their young are threatened. Unlike many other animals, they are happy to return to old burrows for shelter, even sharing it with other species.

Look for the warthogs in the their habitat in the African Savanna on your next safari. If you don’t see them right away, they may be resting in one of their burrows.
