This giraffe was spotted suffering from skin disease - large lesions covering its neck and body. It's caused by a virus called papillomavirus๐ฆ๐ฆ
Lion tried to take down this giraffe?๐ฆ๐ฆ. Very very rare sighting....one lion taking down a grown giraffe? ๐ฑ
Giraffes are very resilient mammals with four long legs and a very long neck that helps them stand about 20ft tall at their maximum while weighing 4,000lbs or more, and lions are the second largest cat species that weigh 500lbs and grow about 4ft long.
The differences between the ungulate and the feline are significant, and they help show areas in which one animal could have the advantage over the other in a battle.
A giraffe's kick is very powerful, meaning that its force of impact is pounds of force per square inch. While a giraffe could not withstand the force of a lion bite and certainly not that of a hunt from a pride, giraffes have been known to actually kill lions by merely kicking๐ฆ๐ฆ
Lions are courageous & phenomenal ๐ฆ๐ฆ
Good try, KING ๐ฆ
Lions vs. Hyenas:
A Battle Over a wildebeest Carcass
Short of saying it was the single most awesome sighting we have probably ever been witness to in the bush, there are no real words to describe how unbelievable it was.
Weโll try to let the video do it some sort of justice, but in words, here is what happenedโฆ
A young male lion, out exploring on his own, strays too far from home and finds himself surrounded by a clan of more than 20 fierce hyenas.
We came upon a large pool of blood on the groundโan ominous sign of a struggle. As we examined the setting, the distant roars of a lion echoed. Guided by the call, we tracked down the lion and came upon a scene that had us spellbound. The wildebeest, suspected to have been fatally injured in a dominant battle with another male โ and the source of the blood we had found โ was the cause of the conflict and then cought up by the hyenas while fighting.
The hyenas had clearly been feeding on the carcass when the lion arrived to claim the prize, and were unfortunately not quick enough to escape. By the time we arrived on the scene, two hyenas had already been killed, their lifeless bodies a testament to the brutal efficiency of the lions. A third hyena, severely injured with a broken back, lay in front of one of the lion, clinging to life but unable to escape the inevitable. After we departed, its suffering came to an end in the jaws of its foe.
Lions and hyenas are natural enemies, often competing for the same resources and territories. Their conflicts are not merely battles for food but are deeply rooted in their instincts and survival strategies. Lions, with their superior size and strength, often dominate these encounters, but hyenas, known for their resilience and cunning, do not shy away from challenging the big cats, especially in larger numbers.
This sighting is a poignant illustration of the raw and often brutal reality of life in the wild. Itโs a world where every day is a struggle for survival, an
An impala lamb had found "true love" in this leopardess...until a hyena appeared...this female leopard saved baby Impala from hyena jaws๐ฆ๐. Absolutely rare sighting!!! Incredible...and heart-melting.

Natureโs miracle! A newborn elephant calf (probably no more than 10 minutes old) learning to stand and walk with help from his mother.
