A rare scene of an Elephant giving birth!
After the arrival of the newborn baby, it was greeted with loud celebratory trumpeting from the whole herd, the adults broke formation to admire the baby and try to help the newborn stand on his own. Less than an hour later, the calf wobbled to his feet and was rewarded with his first drink of milk!
The Baby Elephant drops to the ground from the mother's birth canal inside the amniotic sac, which breaks when it hits the ground, releasing both the calf and a lot of fluid. Female elephants assist the mother scrape dirt and grass over damp spots so the smell won't attract predators.
The organ that has nourished the baby throughout its time in the womb, the placenta, may not be expelled for a few more hours. When it is, the mother observes standard procedure for many wild animals -- she eats it. To leave it lying on the ground would constitute an olfactory announcement to all predators within miles that a toothsome, tender newborn pachyderm was now within their territory!

22 months from now, we’ll have a bundle of joy!🐘💞 Some of the rarest sightings on a safari in africa is mating elephants
Successful mating in male elephants requires a combination of size, strength, and experience. Male elephants are at their reproductive prime between the ages of 40 and 50 years old, but even in their sixties males remain reproductively active. Indeed a male’s longevity determines how many calves he will father in his lifetime - the longer a male lives, the more reproductively successful he is likely to be.
The physical act of copulation requires skill and experience. A male must first be proficient at mounting, a behavior that males begin practicing from infancy. For a male elephant to stand on his hind legs takes both strength and balance, particularly when the mounted individual tries to dislodge him by stepping forward or kicking backward.
Young males often practice on one another, which helps develops proficiency. Once a male has mounted a receptive female he must then control his highly mobile pen*s in order to achieve intromission. As if this weren’t challenge enough, a female’s reproductive tract is also long and curved and a membrane, which covers the cervix, must be moved aside. The larger the male, the larger his pen*s, offering an advantage in this respect.
Once in the correct position, standing on his hind legs and holding his mate still with his trunk, experienced older males do a squat and push up from that position, presumably offering their full liter of semen the best possible opportunity. Females typically prefer to mate with these older, experienced males and may refuse to hold still for younger individuals.

Stunning clip shows giraffes playing against an amazing backdrop of Mt. KILIMANJARO in the Amboseli National Park, Kenya.
Is Amboseli National Park worthy visiting?
The answer is yes of course. But let me explain in more detail why this less-crowded National Park is worth adding to your Kenya itinerary. We added a safari in Amboseli National Park to our visitors for Africa Honeymoon Itinerary. And man, they were glad we did! A safari in Amboseli is less-popular and less-crowded than Kenya’s other National Parks. Plus, it has an abundance of elephants (they counted over 400 in one day!!)
Amboseli National Park has the largest polulation of African Elephants of any place on earth - In fact it is estimated that over 1600 African elephants live in Amboseli. Buffalo, giraffe, hippo, zebra, hyena, gazelle and wildebeest are common, and you might encounter big cats.
Being set against Africa’s highest mountain – Mt Kilimanjaro makes for a spectacular backdrop for Amboseli National Park. Covering almost 400 sqm, Amboseli is one of the best National Parks in Africa for wildlife viewing. This is due to its low rainfall & high concentration of animals.
There’s a lot more positive reasons than the above to add a safari in Amboseli to your Africa itinerary. But, I’ll stop here in order to to keep this piece short & sweet🥳

Yes, the journey is just as important as the destination. Imagine driving up to elephants trumpeting right in front of you instead of the constant honking of vehicles. That’s what a morning on an African safari feels like. 🐘 Would you trade it for anything else?

Another interesting and extremely rare sighting. Hyena reproductive behaviour seems the hardest of all animals. Because of the female's awkward genitalia, successful mating for hyenas is tricky to pull off. It takes careful positioning for the male to crouch behind her and somehow get his pen*s to point up and backwards to enter her clitoris.
Why this??? In the final stages of pregnancy, high-ranking females provide their developing offspring with higher levels of androgen—a male sex hormone associated with aggression. Unfortunately, this hormone makes female offsprings reproductive organs to grow too. A lot. Her clitoris, which contains the birthing canal, protrudes 7 inches from her body.
So how do mothers give birth? Imagine giving birth through a pen*s??? It's really weird genitalia. The clitoris' birth canal is only an inch in diameter, and the tissue often tears as a 2-pound cub squeezes through the narrow opening. The rip can be fatal, as evidenced by the high death rate for first-time mothers.

Gorilla chest-drumming isn’t the braggadocios display we once thought🦍🦍🌿🍀
They beat their chest so they won’t have to beat your butt. Yes, you can read that again 😉.
The image of King Kong beating his chest might seem like the ultimate threat display. However, German scientists have discovered that gorillas thump their sternums to avoid — rather than instigate — a fight.
Infants and #blackbacks learn this trait from the adult males and the silverback as one of their survival skills that’s part of their necessities.
These are large, powerful animals that can do a lot of damage, though they choose to be the gentle giants we know.
A close encounter with these apes is nothing that mere man can explain but rather an experience you should feel and take in. It’s magical, it’s ultimate, it’s special.
“If there were one more thing I could do, it would be to go on safari once again.”—Karen Blixen

Surprise as these two super gigantic hippo bulls fight from the river to the lodge🦛🦛
Hippos are super aggressive and when they fight for dominance it's not a joke. Male hippos will aggressively fight with each other for access to females, and the winner will assert his dominance over the other males by vocalizing, displaying, and even charging them. Once a male hippo has established dominance, he will attempt to mate with receptive females within his territory.
