In wildlife photography, there is a lot more to it than that which meets the eye. A simple, clean capture like this doesn’t just come around with the click of the shutter.

It requires a bit of patience, partial understanding of your equipment and a hint of the creative eye. But, the most important thing is the moments leading up to all of this and the decisions made to get to this point.

What we sometimes forget to acknowledge in wildlife photography is the important of understanding animal behavior. There is a notable difference in the end product if your guide is able to see an opportunity, communicate this effectively and then position the vehicle to capture the intended moment.

It is certainly easier said than done, but it is little bits of advice like this, that I was given years ago, that I keep in the back of my mind when searching for these unique images.
