HOW TO APPLY SCHENGEN VISA FROM KENYA OR EAST AFRICA –VISA FOR EUROPE
Europe is considered as a dream destination to most of us .To achieve this we need to first get the Schengen visa which is a convenience Visa to allow you to travel in 27 countries .For anyone planning to travel to Europe on a short term period or long term period can start with first getting the Schengen visa and then undertaking other legal formalities within the country of destination to change his or her Visa for long term purpose. In this Article we are going to list the requirements needed for Visa and the 27 destination countries you can travel with the Schengen visa provided. Most countries across the world use third party company called VFS GLOBAL to streamline the visa process through appointments, applications, documentations and deliveries.
To apply the Schengen visa you need to apply from the country where you will spend most of the time while in Europe. In our case we can start with Visa for tourism purposes in Italy and Malta .We will start our application by booking for Schengen visa in Italy or any European country you are interested.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SCHENGEN VISA
The documents required for the visa are as follows:
1. Visa Application Form: I downloaded and kept a printout of the form after submitting the visa application to the Netherlands consulate.
2. Visa Appointment Letter: I downloaded and kept a printout of the appointment letter from VFS after paying the application fees.
3. Your Original Passport: Ensure it has at least 6 months of validity.
4. Passport Xerox: Copy of all pages of the passport, including any visa or stamps from other countries.
5. Cover Letter and Travel Itinerary: Write an application on your official letterhead or a normal Word file to the consulate of the country from which you are applying for a Schengen visa. Include all your information, the documents you are submitting, and your travel itinerary.
6. Travel Itinerary: Mention your plans for each day of your stay in Europe, including places to visit and activities. This plan is crucial for your trip, and you can update it as needed after obtaining the visa.
7. Flight and Accommodation Booking Details: Provide proof of your flight and accommodation bookings. Consider using refundable flight bookings to avoid losses in case of visa rejection.
8. Bank Statements: Provide your bank statements for the last 3 months, showing an account balance of 3-5 lakhs. If not, include details of mutual funds, fixed deposits, or other investments.
9. Income Tax Returns: Submit the acknowledgment of your last 3 years' income tax returns.
10. Employment Proof: Include documents such as company registration certificates, GST certificates, employment proof, and salary slips.
11. Travel Insurance: Schengen visa applications require travel insurance with a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros. You can choose an insurance provider based on your preference.
12. Address Proof: While the passport serves as address proof, you may additionally submit property tax slips, mutation certificates, or property documents for a stronger application.

15. Passport-sized Photos: Submit two copies of passport-sized photos as per the specifications of the respective country's website.
16. International Credit Card Copy: Include a photocopy of your international credit card.
Compile all these documents in a file and visit the visa Centre on the specified day. After completing biometric verification and paying the visa fee, your visa appointment process will be completed.
