The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recently released a somber report, proposing to label giraffes as endangered in response to sharp decreases brought on by habitat loss, poaching, and the growing dangers posed by climate change.

The species will receive crucial protections as a result of this ruling, which will also enhance ecosystem health, encourage sustainable practices and fight wildlife trafficking.

The Giraffe Conservation Foundation estimates that the African giraffe population has declined by almost 30%, with only approximately 117,000 individuals remaining today.

Safaris are truly out-of-this-world experiences, but they can be quite the adventure! That’s why we love pairing the thrill of a safari with a few days of pure relaxation at the beach. ✨☀️

Our top pick? The enchanting islands of Lamu and Manda – home to East Africa’s oldest and best-preserved Swahili settlement. 🏝️🌊 The perfect blend of culture, history, and serene coastal vibes.

Growing up in the heart of Kenya, Fuzz Dyer was surrounded by wildlife and a family deeply rooted in conservation. Inspired by his father, Tony, a pioneering safari guide, Fuzz has dedicated decades to wildlife preservation starting in 1982 when he took on the role of managing the Ngare Sergoi rhino sanctuary, leading efforts to protect the Northern black rhino in Kenya.

Today, Fuzz host’s his own exclusive camp, ‘Fuzz’s Camp’ based on Borana Conservancy.

Fuzz’s commitment to conservation is a defining part of SCC. His passion brings guests closer to Kenya’s wild beauty and inspires us all to protect it for generations to come.

Join us on an a tailor-made adventure of a lifetime in Africa...

The Safari & Conservation Company (SCC) has been formed through the passion and experience of the Roberts and Dyer families, third generation Kenyans, who have lived and worked in Kenya, and been involved in tourism, wildlife management, aviation and conservation for the past 40 years.

SCC is also the reservations office Borana Lodge, Laragai House, Lengishu and Manda Bay. In addition to the properties, we offer ground handling service and personalised travel itineraries within the East African region. Whether it be horse riding, gorilla trekking or visiting remote and unusual destinations, we have a large network of contacts for developing custom-built itineraries.

As a conservation-based company, SCC strives to bring awareness and respect to the fragile eco-systems in which we operate. With this in mind, all our itineraries focus on providing our guests with the best Africa can offer, not just wildlife but also specialising in providing safaris that are unique and have a real air of ‘adventure’.

SCC is a member of Atta and Eco-tourism and is a fully insured and licensed ground handler.
