It is a sad day to our community. We have lost a very humble man. A good man. A man that believed in education. A man that has transformed Kibra, a man that represented Kibra in the National Assembly.
RIP Mheshimiwa Ken Okoth. Your legacy and transformative agenda will leave on. Till we meet again.

A very insightful discussion between our tour manager Alistair and our guests during a kibera tour. The discussion was all about the railway line that passes through in the middle of Kibera, the derailing of trains in kibera, the construction of walls, the displacement of people and there resilience.
This is a veryl old Kenya-Uganda railway line that was build in 1890s that is still in service todate.

It's a sad morning, as Toi market, the biggets market in Kibra where thousands of Kiberian residents get their living is brought down in flames.

They call it 'slum' , we call it 'Our Home'
They call it rusted roof gheto', we call it 'chocolate city'
They say it a 'suffering ghetto' , we say, it's a 'vibrant community'

Life ain't easy, but we got each other.
Despite all the challenges, we welcome outsiders, and even share a bread with them.
Explore Kibera and see what happens behind the scene and break the stereotypes.
One Love✌️✌️

My friend Emman, from Daily Beast wrote a featured article on me aand my Kibera Tour Project. Well Slum tourism or poverty tourism as some crazy people call it, is a controversial discussion. But, when you hear from ourside, you will understand the positive side of it.
Through this type of tours, My Explore Kibera Tours through our tourists have a school and day care in kibera built, bought computers for youths in kibera, supported women projects in Kibera, conducted free medical clinics in kibera, Some bright kids are being paid their fees in universities and high school from kibera, created employment opportunities to some youths in kibera and so many other positve things.
When you understand that, you will appreciate our work.
Nice read guys.

Thanks to the news and pop culture, Nairobi's Kibera neighborhood has become a major draw for tourists. While slum tourism remains controversial, some Kenyans want to change that.
