The mountain gorilla is the world's most endangered ape and only found in small portions of protected forests in southwestern Uganda, northwestern Rwanda and eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The forests are also home to many wonderful birds, primates, large mammals, reptiles, insects and plants. The mountain gorillas are divided into two populations.
Gorilla tracking (gorilla trekking) is an intense experience that can take up to 6 hours. The guide leads you through the gorilla's world, explaining aspects of their ecology and behavior along the way.

It's possible to hire a porter (a person who will carry your bag) for about 5 to 10 dollar.

Note that the gorillas are wild creatures with no fixed routine so success is not guaranteed, but your chances are very good, > 95%.

The guides and trackers have helped to habituate the gorilla groups and know them intimately.

This male Southern Tree Agama, sporting his full breeding coloration was basking in the sun after an overcast morning.
Should he find a partner and mate, she will lay 8-14 eggs that she will burry in the ground, and the eggs will hatch in approximately 90 days. DD

We have been so spoilt of late with Wild Dog sightings, that a two week absence of their presence felt like a very long time.
So it created great excitement this morning when 25 dogs were found on our boundary with Kruger National Park.
They were found again in the afternoon after a bit of drama where 2 male lions chased them from their sleeping spot. We were lucky enough to find the pack again, and as the sun began to dip they displayed their great athleticism, as they chased and successfully caught an Impala. DD
