Jeremy Kimathi has dedicated the past 16 years of his life to caring for the last two remaining northern white rhinos. More than just a caretaker, he's a guardian, deeply committed to ensuring their survival. His passion for conservation, ignited in his youth, has made him one of the few people in the world to have such an intimate understanding of these incredible animals.

Jeremy's days are long and demanding. He rises before dawn and often works late into the night, spending countless hours caring for Najin and Fatu. His unwavering dedication and empathy are crucial to their survival.

His dedication has paid off. "Being one of the few people who stay up close with the northern white rhinos has been an incredible experience," Jeremy reflects. "Every day offers new lessons in patience, empathy, and dedication to preserving their future."

Jeremy's story is a powerful reminder of the importance of teamwork in conservation. "You can't practice conservation alone," he emphasises. "This work thrives on the experience and ideas shared among others. Success in rhino monitoring comes from collaborating, learning from one another, and working together to make a difference."
