Who can resist the charm of newborn creatures? Their fluffy countenances and playful antics beckon us into the realm of wonder. Yet, amidst the enchantment, we must remind ourselves that they are creatures of the wild, and our touch might not be welcomed. Nevertheless, their innocent charm bewitches us, and we can't help but bask in their cuteness. Come with us for the trip of a lifetime.

What's the difference between a cheetah and a leopard?
Both of these were spotted by our guests at Masai Mara on a regular game drive. But nothing regular about this right !!!!
Leopard spotted walking along the road..no tree in sight.. such a rare sighting.
Cheetahs have the black tear mark down their faces.
Leopard have bigger spots .
Cheetah is the fastest land mammal and kills and eats on the ground.
Leopard is way more lethal and powerful and pulls its prey up the tree
Both are a remarkable sight to see .. unwaveringly!

Did you know Kenya has 2 types of zebra.? We usually see the Burchell's zebra which is in the second picture. But further north you can spot the rare Grevy zebra. Notice the different stripe patterns and that they end at the belly? Also the Grevy are bigger and the shape of the ears is different. So beautiful!

is where we spotted this Grevy!

The king of the jungle himself. Female lions do most of the hunting but this male helped bring down the Buffalo. Male lions will eat almost 45kg in a sitting, and they will eat first regardless of who killed. Female lions accept this in return for protection of the pride.
The male lion- magnificent, majestical and phenomenal to witness in person.

The Kutana team .kutana = "to meet" in swahili did a week long trauma therapy knowledge share with Wema Centre in Mombasa. The team met with others counsellors, house mothers and social workers to talk about effectively delivering therapeutic techniques and knowledge sharing about life on the streets. They accompanied the Wema outreach team on street visits and participated in art and group therapy exercises with the kids. It was an incredible week for all and we are so pleased to be able to partner with this great cause and provide ground support and logistics.
The team was hosted at Neptune Hotels a valuable community sponsor for this initiative.

The Kutana team led by Red Bird Therapy did their first day of knowledge sharing today with the counsellors and workers from two other street connected agencies.
What an incredible day of learning and sharing. Counsellors shared challenges on working with street kids and learned about homelessness in North America as well. It was an eye opening day all around.
The team also got to play Dodgeball with the kids and hang out in music class.
A very generous donation of trauma focused textbooks helped start the resource library that Wema can share with other workers now. Tomorrow the team joins in street outreach and art and music therapy.
After a full day the team had a chance to unwind at the beautiful in Bamburi, a.community sponsor

Today we took our guests to for a round of golf and what a gorgeous day we had. Weather was 18C-24C as the day progressed and so comfortable!
The course was in excellent condition as they are preparing for the Kenya Open in a fee weeks.
This also meant the rough was super high and hard to get out of!!
It's a long course, and rated hard but they made it !!!
Format was 1nett best ball and everyone had a blast playing together.

Ah the zebra..one of our favorites.. and even if you see a 100,000 zebras on safari, they are still so amazing to look at. Did you know a group of zebras is called a dazzle ?!!
And they can sleep standing up!
A newborn foal can stand within 6 minutes. Now that's impressive.
We had fun with the zebras didn't we?

Kenya is home to almost 1000 species of birds from herons and storks, weavers and sparrows..but our favourite is the lilac breasted roller. This little bird is awe inspiring. It has 8 colours on it’s feather - green, white, black, dark blue, lilac, brown, yellow and turquoise.
It is not dimorphic - meaning males and females are equally as stunning!
For the most part they eat insects and small invertebrates and they have been known to prey on slow moving lizards!
Come on a safari with us to enjoy the many beauties of Kenya. DM us for details.

We took our guests to Mubins. Our favourite resteraunt in town. It is a must stop for BBQ meat on a stick and chicken Tikka and chips and fresh passion juice ! Our previous guests may remember it used to be roadside in the middle of town! Now it's moved to the suburb of nyali and has a concrete floor !!! Moving on up!!
The food was just as delicious and we were all pretty stuffed !

Day 6 on safari
Visited a masai village where we got to interact with the villagers and learn about their way of life, how they cook and sleep in their mud huts and why preserving the culture is so important to them. They are a polygamous society and use cows as currency.

The masai men are known for their jumping skills. The higher the man jumps the more options he gets for choosing a bride.!

We capped off the day with a sundowner cocktail and a spectacular view of the plains. What an incredible journey this has been. Now off to the island of Mombasa to catch up on some rest.

Day 5 on safari at the spectacular in Masai Mara - aka - our happy place. The camp is incredible and the animals are everywhere around us. We have had 2 long days of game drives and hunting for cheetah and leopard and elephants and we found them all! A nice evening sundowner capped off a very fulfilling day. The Mara never disappoints.

Day 4 today on safari and a full day at Flamingo Hill Camp in Lake Nakuru. We left at 630am at first light and literally within a half hour we came across 2 black rhinos! We carried our breakfast with us and finally at 10am after finding a few lions and more giraffe and more rhino and some spectacular birds we stopped to eat! Made our way back to camp slowly and just in time for lunch! It seems that we are quite hungry all the time. Must be all the fresh air.! The scenery here is just stunning and we are so blown away with everything we have seen. Tomorrow we make the trek into masai mara. Can't wait!

Day 3 on safari today at
Today we left Elmenteita and drove to Lake Nakuru and immediately opened up the roofs and started our game spotting. Not half an hour in and we saw 3 white rhino that crossed the road right in front of us! The Lake is still pretty flooded and you can see the hauntingly beautiful dead trees. We had a nice encounter with some baboons and monkeys and the birds...oh my....the birds. So many species in one eyeframe..oh and hippos! Too far away to catch but spectacular

Day 2 on safari.
Today we started our day with a 630am game drive, followed by a lakeside breakfast, an afternoon of rest where some decided to have massages and others to horseback ride! The camp is spectacular and I know everyone will be sad to leave..but wait till they see what animal viewing we have in store for them in Lake Nakuru..tee hee !!!

The game drives did not disappoint. We saw beautiful birds like crested cranes dancing, we saw zebras fighting, impala horn tustling and dozens of Elands, and buffaloes, zebras and impala by the hundreds and thousands of flamingos. Just when we thought it was the perfect day out came a journey of giraffe! And we must have seen over 20 or so of these magnificent creatures. And then to add the cherry on top.. hyena came out !!! What a spectacular day eh?

Day 1 of our first safari since Covid and what an incredible day we had. A drive through Nairobi spotting hundreds of Olive baboons and zebra and impala by the roadside to end at the spectacular Lake Elementaita Serena Lodge. A lakeside walk followed by a birthday celebration for Nancy and now comfortably tucked into our four poster beds in the gorgeous camp. Some of the group arrived a day early and were able to visit the Giraffe Centre as well to feed the Rothschilds!
What will day 2 hold it store for us .dilly.3
