Ride Kenya Maasai Mara ~ based in Olare Motorogi Conservancy on the edge of the Maasai Mara National reserve, the new Ride Kenya stables are perfectly placed to provide a truly amazing riding experience. Open for morning and afternoon rides and available to any of the camps in Mara North, Olare Motorogi or Naibosho. However, for the full Great Plains experience we'd recommend staying at Mara Plains or Mara Expedition Camp.

There’s a lot to love about these browsers! From birth, young giraffe have the odds stacked against them. Despite being 6ft tall and around 65kg, they are easy prey for lions. Only between 20-30% make it to adulthood- which makes seeing such strong and brave calves like this all the more special!

Faces of ol Donyo… our stables are home to 22 beautiful boys of all ages and various breeds. South African Boerperds and crosses make up most of the herd, along with some Shire and Percheron crosses, Thoroughbreds and Warmbloods. Each horse is chosen to suit this specific lifestyle- it takes a very special sort to thrive on safari, and that is exactly what the ol Donyo horses are!

Meet our rescue horses! Zorro and Amari joined us in March. They arrived emaciated, fearful and shut down. After months of TLC, plenty of good nutrition and rehab, they have been rebacked into the most wonderful safari horses. Zorro thrives at the front, and is quickly becoming one of our bravest lead horses! Amari has a personality big enough to match his ears, and offers his guests a wonderfully relaxing ride. It has been such a wonderful journey to get them here- and a privilege to offer these incredible horses a second chance!

The Chyulu Hills are best explored on horseback. Get ready to gallop amongst plains game, explore ancient lava flows and enjoy the African sun setting between your horse’s ears - all in the shadow of snow capped Kilimanjaro!

Our stables boast a range of breeds, sizes and ages. The young horses are introduced to safari life slowly, guided by the rest of the herd, and in particular by our 4 stallions who set a wonderful example to the youngsters. During the day they roam free in the bush, enjoying the company of elephants, giraffe and zebra, and growing accustomed to eachothers presence- all under the watchful eye of our Herders, Isaack, Mike and Sam!
