There’s something about the golden light of an African sunset that stays with you long after the dust has settled.

When the Jeep’s engine is finally off,the air thick with the scent of wild sage and the distant rumble of lions calling to each other across the savanna.

I can still feel the thrill of spotting elephant herds, moving like gentle giants through the acacia trees. The way the matriarch pauses, her wise eyes meeting mine, as if to say, *“Welcome to our world.”*

And the nights… oh, the nights. Falling asleep to the symphony of the bush—hyenas laughing, crickets chirping, and the occasional roar that sent shivers down my spine.

Waking up to the soft 0range-yellow hues of dawn, coffee in hand, watching a giraffe gracefully nibble on the treetops.

Africa has a way of carving itself into your soul. It’s not just a place; it’s a feeling. A reminder of how small we are in this vast, wild world, and yet how deeply connected we are to every living thing.

I miss the untamed beauty, the raw simplicity, and the way time seemed to stand still out there. Here’s to the memories that keep calling me back…

Why Tsavo

The Tsavo ecosystem is one of Africa’s untouched wilderness tracts.

Because of its aridity and immense size, Tsavo offers the best hope for survival in the wild of large mammals that need space like elephant, lion, cheetah, giraffe, and herds of antelope.

WHAT TO DO:

🚙💨 Go on game drives and visit Tsavo West’s “Shetani” – Devil Mountains – an 8Km ancient lava flow of about 400 years old that forms a natural water filter for an underground stream that feeds the Mzima Springs, a natural oasis for hippos 40 kms away.

🐘🐆 Leopard, cheetah, wild dog (small population), buffalo, giraffe, zebra, and lesser kudu are abundant, with a diverse species of birds.

🍖🥃 Enjoy Bush Breakfasts, Bush Dinners, and Sundowners, and if you’re looking for a meal or a drink with a difference, many lodges can arrange special bush meals away from the camp.
