"Luluka, the most celebrated Leopard from Maasai Mara had a litter of two in the month of November 2022. On the last day of our trip, we got the news that Luluka was moving her cubs. We waited for five hours for her to bring her cubs out. She did not disappoint. She gave the greatest show a photographer could imagine. Unfortunately, she lost her litter. This shows how difficult it is to survive in nature. Hopefully Luluka has a successful motherhood next time around."

Great to see so many leopard sightings on the conservancy and as the short rains trigger the birthing season for many antelope species, we can expect more and more predators to move into the area.

Standing at 5,199m, iconic Mt Kenya has huge ecological significance. The lower forest and bamboo zone provide important habitat for giant forest hogs, migrating elephants, black rhino and leopards.

Mt Kenya is regarded as a holy mountain by the communities living adjacent to it and as it towers over the plains of Laikipia and Ol Pejeta, it is easy to see why.
