Tree planting has always been a huge part of our heart as company.in efforts towards conservation.
Our goal is to plant three trees for each client/ tourist we handle. We cumulatively hold this exercise twice or once an year.
In keeping with our promise to support conservation, today we have planted trees on Mt. Kenya. Part of our earnings are dedicated towards conservation. We are committed to not only giving back to nature, but also to protecting it.
We take this opportunity to thank all our clients. Your support and choice to use Nelion Adventures for your travels in East Africa have made this possible.
Talk to us for safaris & vacations in East Africa as well as climbing Mt. Kenya, Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Ruwenzori
Congratulations to Monika & RenΓ©!

Beautiful cat. Leopards are mostly solitary cats as adults and only live together when mating or with their cubs until they can move out of home, go and establish their own territory. They are simply gorgeous!
Talk to us for an opportunity to see leopards on a safari in East Africa.

What's the difference between a White Rhino & a Black Rhino?
Many might think that it's because of their color but that's not the case. A white π¦ rhino is called so because of it's wide or seemingly flat or straight snout. Since it originally comes from the Afrikaans language which is heavily borrowed from dutch wyd which is somehow corrupted into English to sound similar to the word "white".
The wide or straight snout of the white rhino makes it, adapted for grazing and in effect the white rhino has bigger and longer body in comparison to the black Rhinos.
The black rhinos π¦ snout is smaller and shaped like fingers with the upper lip and the lower lip forming a finger like adaptation for browsing and eating twigs, shrubs and small trees. Also it's smaller and shorter body makes it easy to browse in between thickets.
Therefore the biggest difference between white and black Rhinos is their adaptation. Black Rhinos are browsers, meaning that they feed on twigs and shrubs while white rhinos are grazers and they feed mostly on grass and other plants growing on the ground.
Our logo, which we borrowed from the Rhino is aimed at spreading awareness on the endangerment of the Rhino which has been brought close to extinction. By signing up for a safari with us, we pledge part of our earnings towards the conservation of this gorgeous, shy and temperamental beasts. Talk to us about how to sign up for a safari and for opportunities to see wild living rhinos.
In regards to the color of the Rhinos, yes there could be a small reference to it since in adaptation, browsers are generally darker, so that they can be easily camouflaged in thickets while grazers are slightly brightly colored or greyish in color so that they can be camouflaged in the African grassland savannah. However this shouldn't be the primary distinct factor in identification of the animals since wild animals are known to take up the color of the soil of the area they inhabit. That's why we have red elephants in Tsavo and grey elephants in Amboseli

Grevy Zebra at Samburu national park. The Northern Wildlife species comes with special adaptation and it shows in their distinct appearance and nature. Zebras are cousins with the horse. It's agility and speed is similar to that of a mustang.
You can visit Samburu and Northern Kenya with us. Talk to us for a consultative custom made safari.

Climbing Mt Kenya through Chogoria route is perhaps one of the most scenic routes on Mt Kenya. From Chogoria town to KWS Chogoria Banda's, there is an elevation of about 1,400Meters. Chogoria town stands at 1632 while KWS Banda's on Mt Kenya forest Chogoria gate is at 3,100meters. The rise in altitude is dramatic through the indigenous forest on Mt. Kenya which is a 32 Kilometers drive on a deep forest trail that brings us to the moorland on Mt Kenya. After a deep tropical forest and Bamboo forest. We normally cover this distance by drive with a good 4X4 vehicle that cab handle the terrain. On this particular day, it has rained and even continued raining as we were driving up the mountain and the harsh wet terrain ensured that we had to hike the remaining 2Kms in the rain to Banda since no vehicle could drive any further. This is a clip of part of the adventure. #NelionAdventuresSafaris #TeamBuildingAfrica #TheGreatOutdoors #NelionAdventures #ClimbMtKenya #TeamBuilding #Conservation #Climbing #Safaris #Safari #Climb

Meal fit for a king! π Our driver stumbled upon this pride of lions, which has female and male juvenile lions. When lions are young, they are playful and also quite curious as demonstrated here in this encounter. It's wonderful and special seeing the rhino on a safari. It's indeed special and a rare moment. While at it, respect nature and don't get too close. #NelionAdventuresSafaris #TeamBuildingAfrica #TheGreatOutdoors #NelionAdventures #TeamBuilding #Conservation #Safaris #Safari
We are moving homes. Just like humans, animals in the wild move their homes every once in a while. There are many reasons for that, including community, neighbourhoods, security and availability of resources. #NelionAdventuresSafaris #TeamBuildingAfrica #TheGreatOutdoors #NelionAdventures #TeamBuilding #Conservation #Safaris #Safari
Out of the big cats, with an exception of certain Lion Prides found only in East Africa, Leopard π is the only big cat that mostly live above the ground and perch on trees. It's a special adaptation to minimize competition which is rife on the ground. Leopards mostly sleep, or just naps on trees and comes down only to hunt and to travel. It also is quite strong and can move animals almost double it's weight up on a tree. Trees provide perfect cover from Lions, nosy and incredibly rude hyenas π and it's the best way to keep off the one tonne quick tempered African buffalos π¦¬. Hyenas on the other hands are the garbage collectors of the wild. They clean up after the lions and big cats kills helping to keep nature in perfect balance. Because of this Hyenas are adapted as scavengers and are highly adapted to withstand bacterial and viral infections that results to eating rotting animals. However, hyenas are also opportunistic hunters and prey on the new borns to the big herds and take advantage of their haplessness and lack of vigor, energy and experience. Hyenas don't know how to kill an animal and it goes straight into eating the animal before killing it. It can be stressful to watch, but you have to remind yourself that this is nature and it must find balance and hyenas do have their place even with their scoundrel and brutal means. Hyenas especially like hanging around the graceful cheetah because a cheetah would never risk an injury from hyenas over a kill. They mostly work in numbers and can be ferocious too. A pack of hyenas are no mean feat even to a lion. However even a lone male hyena like this one can be extremely dangerous for a leopard to engage with. The only options is just a tug of war and whoever gets the biggest chunk is lucky celebrates! π Hyenas also make varying noises and it's interesting to listen to. Volume on. πποΈ Nevertheless nature hangs in perfect balance. Our duty is not to interfere but you are welcome to come and w
