International flights to Kenya resume today, 01st Aug 2020:
As of now, nationals from the following countries are permitted to fly to Nairobi, Kenya:

US (except for California, Florida and Texas), UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Qatar, UAE, Italy, China, Canada, South Korea, Namibia, Uganda, Rwanda, Morocco, Japan, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia and Switzerland.
Further review on the above list may be done soon by the Kenyan Government.

According to this directive, passengers from the above countries will be exempt from quarantine upon arrival if the following conditions are met:

· The passenger does not have a body temperature above 37.5°C (99.5°F);

· The passenger does not have a persistent cough, difficulty breathing or other flu-like symptoms;

· The passenger has a negative PCR-based COVID-19 test conducted within 96 hours before travel.

1. Flight Safety and Well-being

At Hot Air Safaris (Africa Eco Adventures), your flight safety and well-being always comes first. Temperature scans on arrival, heightened cleaning and disinfection procedures, and new spacious layouts during and after the flights, bush breakfast set-ups and vehicles are just some of the measures we have implemented to protect you.

The vast outdoor areas give you plenty of personal space to enjoy.

2. Technology and Environment

We use electrostatic sprayers with biodegradable disinfectant to sanitize all areas of the balloons, as well as our game drive vehicles. All guests have their temperatures measured using the latest thermal cameras before each flight .

We also offer mobile payment options, digitalised guest registration forms and other contactless services for extra convenience. These add to the high levels of personalized service you have come to expect and deserve from Hot Air Safaris( Africa Eco Adventures Ltd )

3. Flights and Wilderness Breakfast

We have implemented reinforced personal hygiene procedures including drivers wearing masks and vehicles being disinfected before and after every use. Masks and gloves will be available for free before check-in, so you can fly with confidence. Balloon passengers will have their temperatures check before boarding
Balloon Pilots and Crews will have their temperatures checked everyday
All vehicles to be disinfected every day
Hand Sanitizers and Masks will be available for passengers in vehicles and balloons
All passengers will have a window seat during transfers except when traveling as one group or family

Selected international airlines have resumed flights to Tanzania. Ethiopian airlines has already started limited flights to Kilimanjaro International airport while Qatar and several other airlines plan to start from mid June onwards. There will be no mandatory quarantine for passengers free from Covid symptoms.

The Fairmont Norfolk, a historic and much loved hotel has announced an indefinite closure starting immediately. The iconic hotel in Nairobi was first built in 1904 and has been open for 116 years until its closure this week. During this time it survived the crisis events of two world wars and numerous other global threats including terrorism and economic recessions.

This is to inform our valued clients and prospective travelers to Kenya that in view of the current global pandemic, the international passenger flight ban affecting flights into and out of Kenya has been extended for another 30 days with effect from 06th April 2020. Safaris and Tours booked upto and including 06th May 2020 stand cancelled. We apologize for any inconvenience. Tours already booked may be rescheduled for future dates.
We recommend considering travel beginning only after mid May 2020 at the earliest, based on your respective country's / government's travel advise at that time.

AMBOSELI AIRSTRIP TEMPORARY CLOSURE: We wish to inform you that Airkenya has temporarily suspended operations into Amboseli Airstrip effective immediately.

The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has put a temporary closure of the airstrip following heavy rains that flooded the apron and the visitor service centre.

The airstrip will be reopened when conditions become favorable.

The wildebeest migration in Masai Mara has properly started with this herd crossing the river this morning at the Sand River location.
