They Should make a movie based on the life of Baron Delamere. I guess it will be very interesting

Baron Delamere (r) with fellow settlers sometime in the 1930s.

He came to Kenya in the 1890s via Somalia, where he was mauled by a lion, which is the reason why the pioneer settler walked with a limp afterwards.

It was one of his Somali gun bearers, a chap called Abdullahi Ashur, who pounced on the lion to save him. Abdullahi was however killed by the cat.

From that day on Delamere was to have tremendous respect for Somalis.

Maasai Mara week: When dusk falls, the Maasai bring in their livestock into the game reserve to feed on the lush grass available. This illegal activity stems from a complex history. In the end however, a Maasai measures his wealth with the amount of cattle he owns and will do whatever it takes to make sure they survive. Other issues await them such as predators attacking their livestock. This in turn leads to retaliatory killings by the maasai - with the lion population in Kenya less than 1,800, everything must be done to protect them!

Amboseli Park spreads across the Kenya-Tanzania border & offers some of the best views to Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Unfortunately the clouds were too low covering the top of the mountain, so we didnt have the chance to see it as we were expecting to.
On the other hand, we had the opportunity to meet most of the Amboseli's wild inhabitants such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, lions, cheetahs, hyenas and lots of hippos swimming in the famous swamps. Needless to say that the park has some of the most stunning landscapes in Kenya making this area one of the best wildlife-viewing experiences in the world. Wilsons Travels
