Eland is one of the largest savannah and plains antelope found in East and Southern Africa. There are two species of Elands. The Giant eland (Taurotragus derbianus) which is slightly larger and is found in Central and Western Africa. The other species is the common Eland (Taurotragus oryx) found in East and Southern Africa, from Kenya to Botswana. The Eland speed is up to 40 kph (25 mph), it can jump up to 3 m (10 ft.), and they have spiral-horned reaching up to 26 inches long. The average lifespan of an Eland is around 15-20 years. When walking, the tendon of the foreleg produces a sharp clicking sound, the cause of which has not been widely investigated.

Tree Climbing Lions are mostly found in the Ishasha area within Queen Elizabeth National Park because of various reasons which include; Shelter from the wet grounds, getting better vantage point when hunting, enjoying the cool breeze when it’s hot, and for security reasons, especially from other lions.
