Just a puff adder casually crossing the road in Turbi, Marsabit County. What would you do if you encountered a snake in the wild?

We've received some good rains in the greater Chalbi Desert landscape (Maikona, Hurri Hills, Kalacha, North Horr, Balesa, and Dukana) this morning from 4.00 am to about 8.00 am. Lagh Balal has been full and flowing for a while now - thanks to similarly good rains from the Ethiopian Highlands just across the border. This water all ends up in the Chalbi Desert, which is now a seasonal lake for the next few months - a normal phenomenon here every rainy season. Chalbi Desert serves as some sort of natural flood risk reduction mechanism - especially from occasional flash floods. While the rains here aren't of the same magnitude as what the rest of the country is experiencing, the roads are as muddy as you can imagine. You need a good off-road machine to get you through some muddy patches. The long chassis game viewer landcruisers might struggle here right now. Short chassis 76 landcruisers, landrovers, and patrols recommended.
