This intriguing quote encapsulates a profound perspective on the inherent beauty and complexity of the natural world. It suggests that the concept of perfection, as defined by human standards, does not apply to nature, yet within its imperfections lies a unique and inherent perfection.

Our hike to Ngong Hills earlier this morning totally nails this quote on the head. With the city silhouette in the background as we started the hike, everything looked imperfect but perfect in its imperfection. We need to appreciate and respect the natural world for what it is and to work in harmony with it rather than against it.

Join us as we Go All Out! to Kiambicho Hill & Sagana Gorge on Saturday 23 March 2024! The hiking trail commences at the river camp in Sagana where you cross the river via a bridge. The trail after the bridge leads to the base of the forest. The forest trail is refreshing with views as far as Kilimambogo, the Aberdares and the surrounding plains. From strategic viewpoints, the views of Sagana River as it snakes its way down is to die for. The trail then drops off to the forest station & an observation point that is interesting. We will then walk down to join the old railway line. Walking along it takes us to the “canyon of Sagana” a hells gate type of attraction with interesting sights. Later we follow the same railway line and the off to access a footpath that leads us to the river-line and from there on to the final destination at Jangwani Camp.

We are GOING ALL OUT to Sagana!!! Located in Murang’a County, Sagana has very breathtaking views. This is an adventure filled hike and canyon expedition that has a bunch of goodies to offer.

The hike starts in Sagana, where we descend past some homesteads to get to the river Sagana where we cross a suspension bridge. From there on, we hike to climb two hills.

After that, we head to see the beautiful canyons and walk adjacent to the railway and branch into Jangwani Camp Sagana - where the hike ends.

We then settle for a well deserved buffet lunch at Jangwani Camp Sagana where hikers are welcome to enjoy a cold shower before lunch, change into less sweaty clothes, less dusty shoes, and enjoy the calm rapids of the Sagana River, networking as we laze barefoot on the cold grass aiming to leave for Nairobi at 4pm to enable hikers be in CBD by 6pm.

The new year is already a month old. Where does time go?! Anyway, creating goals for a brand new year can be invigorating. It’s a great way to create a blank slate and have something new to work toward. The problem is, most of us make resolutions we fail to keep - even before the first month ends. Did you have some hiking goals (hikolutions they are called) for 2024? Have you gone on a hike yet? Don’t worry, if not, you have 11 months to go.

Instead of vowing to go to the gym everyday, cutting out sugar from your diet, or actually creating the hundreds of DIY projects you pinned this year, aim to create goals you’ll actually keep.

The best goals are ones that you actually look forward to and will improve your life! These goals get you outside either through preparation or practice, giving you something to look forward to even on a Monday in the office.

If you’re looking to build better relationships, instill good habits, or make memories that will last a lifetime, introduce someone you love to the outdoors!
