A coalition of cheetahs captured beautifully yesterday in Masai Mara. Male cheetahs often move together in groups called coalitions. They usually group with their brothers and may also join an existing group or other males who were the lone male in their litter. Female cheetahs however, hunt alone with the exception of their own cubs.

Masai Mara is a large game reserve in Kenya, contiguous with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. It is named in honor of its ansestral inhibitants from the Maasaii tribe and their description of the area when looked at from afar: "Mara," is taken from the Maasai language where Maa means "spotted," an apt description for the circles of trees, scrub, savanna, and cloud shadows that mark the area. This region is globally famous for its exceptional population of lions, leopards and cheetahs in the wild as well as the annual migration of zebra, Thomson's gazelle, and wildebeest to and from the Serengeti every year from July to October, known as the Great Migration besides a rich habitat of the exocotic African birdlife.
