Serengeti and Ngorongoro has put Tanzania in the world tourist map. However, did you know the largest wildlife game reserve is in Tanzania? Selous game reserve is in southern Tanzania. It’s a beautiful reserve away from the northern circuit.
The Rufiji flows through it. It therefore gives you an opportunity to combine game drives and river safaris. The Selous has some of the largest wildlife populations. This include wild dogs, lions and elephants, buffaloes, giraffes and Zebra
It may not receive as many guests as the Masai Mara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro but staying here is special. The park allows off-road driving which is monitored. Most camps also offer half day walking safaris in the company of an armed ranger guide. This include the amazing and luxurious Sand river Selous camp. Are you up for game drives, boat rides, fishing safari, birding, guided game walks or fly camping?
