The current drought is worst than the one of 2008-2009 and some part of the country is facing the worst in 40 yrs and many wildlife are in dire state and we hope and pray that soon we will get rain before situation even get worse.

GENTLE AND GIGANTIC

So, stop. For the world's most gentle giants. Literally.

The only mammals born with horns. So, tall, they don't lie down to give birth. These horns help them absorb shock as they hit the ground to start life in the wild.
With blood pressure that almost always dwarfs any other land mammal anywhere in the world, they are as unique as they come.

When hunted and threatened, they run a good one. A kick to the skull of any prey, well connected could be fatal in a split second. These humongous beasts are ruthless, effective and no nonsense.

But even the best of dancers leave the stage at one time or the other. Willingly or under duress. These majestic, graceful, nonchalant and elegant mates are sadly going extinct. Very, very few left in the wide, wild world and like an era of an enchanting and spell binding champion, let us all go out and enjoy them while they are still around.

Therefore, then, ladies and gentlemen, in such an odious world that we live in, go out and be gentle, go out and be ruthless in your fights, stand tall in the face of your adversities, go out, absorb and expel shock and pressure even in your most delicate of life moments. Go out and kickass. Go out and chart your own path. Go out and be a trailblazer.

Go out and be a giraffe. Go out and enjoy this world giraffe day.

Both sexes are polygamous and breed throughout the year, but females are usually restricted to the one or two adult males of their pride. In captivity lions often breed every year, but in the wild they usually breed no more than once in two years. Females are receptive to mating for three or four days within a widely variable reproductive cycle. During this time a pair generally mates every 20–30 minutes, with up to 50 copulations per 24 hours. Such extended copulation not only stimulates ovulation in the female but also secures paternity for the male by excluding other males. The gestation period is about 108 days, and the litter size varies from one to six cubs, two to four being usual.
