Happy Tuesday adventurer🦁
Lions hunting is truly a work of art when you’re lucky to witness it. Lions mostly hunt in tribes, as lionesses lead the charge. Once the kill is made, a hierarchy is followed. Typically lionesses and cubs typically dine first followed by dominant males and finally subordinate males.
Some interesting information hey? But can you imagine seeng this first hand. At Jemu we advocate for safaris because we get to interact with wildlife while not distracting them in their natural habitat. This is what sustainability is all about. If you’re wondering how to enjoy wildlife and still contribute to wildlife preservation, get #OnSafariwithJemu today🤗🍃
Simply DM us, tell us where you want to visit and leave the hustle to us! Happy Safari and happy Tuesday!

Ever wondered why baby elephants are the ultimate mud enthusiasts?🐘💦 ‘
It’s not just messy fun – it’s a clever skincare routine!🌿 These pint-sized giants love splashing around to create a natural sunscreen. Mud acts as their cool, protective shield against the scorching sun and pesky insects.
So, next time you catch them in action, remember, it’s not just a mud bath; it’s their secret to staying fresh and fabulous in the wild!🌞🐘

Did you know elephants have a sophisticated social life? Families, led by wise old females, roam together, occasionally forming larger groups when food is abundant. Meanwhile, bachelor herds of males strut their stuff solo.
Their keen sense of smell helps them assess reproductive status, a crucial skill in the wild dating scene.
During “musth,” male elephants get a bit, well, intoxicated with heightened testosterone levels. This is their time to shine, establishing their place in the reproductive hierarchy. It’s like their own wild dance party – uncontrollable and, dare we say, a little erratic! With a keen sense of smell, they use nasal turbinals (way more than we humans have) to detect hormones in the air, giving a whole new meaning to the term “love in the air.” 🌬️🤎
Now, let’s talk baby elephants! Gestation lasts a record-breaking 18–22 months. Imagine that anticipation! Newborns, standing at about a meter tall, opt for the mouth over the trunk to suckle from mammary glands. Weaning is a gradual process, extending until Mom can no longer handle those emerging tusks🐘💕
So, next time you marvel at these gentle giants, remember the incredible stories unfolding behind those majestic trunks!🌍🐘

Did you know that giraffe tails hold cultural significance in many African communities, being crafted into good-luck bracelets, fly whisks, and even used as thread for sewing and stringing beads? These majestic creatures, the world’s tallest land animals, face an alarming decline, with a 40% loss in population over just 30 years.
The challenges are immense. Habitat loss, driven by expanding human activities, threatens not only the giraffe’s dwelling places but also its primary source of sustenance, the cherished acacia trees. The consequence? Shrinking herds, with average sizes now dwindling to fewer than six individuals.
Our commitment extends far beyond the preservation of giraffe tails; we strive to safeguard the entire ecosystem these majestic creatures call home. Giraffes are more than symbols of grace; they are indicators of the health of our planet.
By addressing the root causes of their decline, we can create a future where giraffes roam freely, thriving in landscapes that echo with the beauty of untamed nature🌿💚

Listen closely to the soothing symphony of a hungry rhino enjoying its brunch in the wild🦏🌿
Rhinos are not just grass enthusiasts; they’re also skilled browsers. Despite their bulky appearance, these herbivores have a diverse palate, munching on a variety of shrubs, leaves, and even fruits🍈
Another intriguing tidbit: Rhinos have a keen sense of smell, helping them locate the tastiest greens. So, as they consume up to 150 pounds a day, they’re not just eating; they’re savoring the rich flavors of the savannah. Join us on this culinary journey of the wild!🍃
