Buying hiking boots that are a size bigger can be advisable for a few reasons:

3. Downhill Comfort: When hiking downhill, your feet tend to slide forward in the boots. Extra space at the front of the boot prevents your toes from hitting the front, reducing the risk of bruising or black toenails.

4. Preventing Blisters: Tight-fitting boots can cause friction and lead to blisters, especially on longer hikes. A slightly larger size reduces the risk of friction and provides more comfort.

However, it's important not to go too large, as overly big boots can cause instability and increase the risk of injury.
