Did you know the falls gained their current name during the colonial era in 1902 when a British settler named Martin Sutton purchased the land surrounding the falls (Nyakinyua) Sutton named the falls “Fourteen Falls” because of the fourteen distinct waterfalls that cascade down the rocky gorge,the falls was later introduced by William northrup mcmillan in 1905 mcmillan owned muka mukuu farm and juja farm.
