Ngutuni Lodge has 48 guest rooms, each sleeping up to three people in one single and one double bed. Many of the guest rooms have interconnecting doors, making the Lodge ideal for families and larger parties. All of the rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished, with en-suite shower rooms. Private balconies overlook the large water hole, which is illuminated at night for evening game viewing. There is a small flight of steps at the entrance to the property (approx 6 steps), thereafter the ground floor of the lodge is on a single level accept for one small step between the main restaurant / bar area and guest bedrooms. All rooms are the same size and have ample room for wheel chair use, though bathrooms have shower only. The entire safari lodge is built with timber poles and thatched roofs with a warm, eco-friendly ambience that surprisingly combines all the basic comforts you may need. The main lounge and dining room is located in a central structure with wide verandas that serve as excellent vantage points to view the wildlife activity in the plain outside. After a warm welcome with cool drinks and warm, fragrant towels, you will be shown to your room. The 48 guest rooms are housed on either side of four of the two-story buildings that have 12 rooms each. Every room includes a double bed and an added single bed that can comfortably sleep up to three guests traveling to Tsavo East Park with a maximum capacity of a massive 144 guests. Families will find the 8 interconnecting rooms very convenient. Natural-tone curtains and rugs on the floor lend a homely feel to the rooms that also has a simple dresser and seat. The ceiling fan keeps you cool and the lodge also provides a room phone for your use while the attached bathroom has a shower and hairdryer. The wooden balcony also has a seating arrangement and faces the watering hole. This area light up at night so you can continue to view animals even in the dim light. The trees in the savannah beside the lodge have many resident weaverbirds and as you dine, you can watch the avian-life in them. You can order lunch off the menu from a choice of three courses while dinners are four-course meals with salad, soup, main dish and dessert.
