This is why you should stay in Akiki villas
Travelling to a new destination can be quiet exhilarating, stressful, tiresome and sometimes disappointing. The uncertainty of whether or not you will find the perfect holiday that comes with comfort and relaxation that you have been dreaming for always haunts you the moment you land at your destination.
Having been my first time visiting Diani Beach, I was exited the moment my foot touched the ground at the Moi international airport in Mombasa, the weather was a little humid, bright sun, just what I was hoping for. As I was walking past the customs check heading out to meet jambotrips pick up driver from the company that organized my stay at Akiki villas, I was warmly greeted by this fine gentleman who helped me load my luggage in the car.
We drove past Mombasa city downtown and headed to the ferry which surprisingly wasn’t as bad as I have heard about it on television or read it on newspaper and social media. On the way we passed through likoni, Kombani, Tiwi and finally arrived at Ukunda having spent approximately 45minutes minus the 10 minutes that we spent at the queue, while waiting for the ferry.
While driving towards Diani beach road, I lowered the car windows for a chance to feel the cool sensational breeze that was coming from the ocean. We took a right turn at the junction and headed towards Akiki Villas located along beach road about 50 meters off the main road.
On arrival, I was amazed with the architectural design of this property, from the gate, which was made of baobab with a vintage theme was just excellent and exactly how I saw it on the website,” yes, this is home” I said to myself. The gate was open by the security guard who let me in where I met Rhoda (the manager) who gave me a warm welcome and showed me in to my room.
Never in my life for all the years that I have been travelling have I been to such an amazing work of art, my eyes could not stop wondering around this amazingly designed villa as I was going upstairs. The terrace to this place is very spacious, there are two wooden couch with multicolored big comfortable cushions and what I loved most about this terrace, I could feel the cool breeze from the beach with every breath that got into my nostrils.
Stepping into the sitting area was not disappointing either, just amazing yet again, the stairs are made of wood with a vintage style, the tiles, roof made of coconut tree leafs, really amazing scene and as I walked into the bed room, I got this 6X6 wooden bed with a baby bed beside it, ’I never expected this for such affordable price’ I said to the manager.
I took a shower, changed my clothes and stepped out for shopping in Chandarana, a shopping Centre located approximately 500 meters from the villa. My private chef whom I had requested for in advance was standing by, he prepared this delicious sea food for dinner after which a took a rest.
The night seemed too short, it was so quiet and relaxing, I slept like a baby and hardly noticed that it was already 9oclock in the morning. I woke up, hit the shower and headed straight to the swimming pool. I really enjoyed the company of other tourist who were sunbathing at the poolside while others were having fun at the swimming pool together with their kids.
My one week stay at Akiki villas, was so wonderful, I really enjoyed each and every moment, I can really guarantee you that this is worth your money, it all seemed like I had only stayed for a day, I hardly noticed the week end so fast as we drove back to the airport.
