Jinja is a city in eastern Uganda, approximately 120km from Busia border.
Busia is approximately 470km from Nairobi,,the total distance comes to around 590km.this is our road trip on 25th January to 28th January 2024

The roaring river ,the rushing waters,sparkles of water on our faces ,a light drizzle in the darkness frightened me abit ,our tour leader assured us the place was safe ,our phone torches didn't help us to have a view of this spectacular falls located 20km from Jinja city Uganda that night,The fear of flooding came to my mind as we stepped down toward some bridges at the falls ,it was pitch dark ,but we had travelled all the way from Nairobi to Explore Jinja, unfortunately we arrived late, the circumstances that made us arrive at night is a story for another day.
The darkness and the drizzle made us to tour the area hastily coupled with a tour driver who was fuming with the sound of thunder, the muddy road would be impassable, in 10mins we hurriedly boarded the van very disappointed,I therefore made up my mind to Explore the area again daytime.
On 25th December 2023, with Falcon east Africa explorers ltd, we stood at the gates of this spectacular falls,I have never seen such a view,it reminded me of religious pamphlets that used to be distributed by a certain church with pictures of an heaven on earth in the after life.
On the 25th of January 2024, Welcome to buswooko falls, one of the most spectacular beautiful places on earth,the rushing waters,scenic views for photography,tubing rafting,water massage (ladies love it a lot) is a must for any adventurer

On 6th December 2023, I was invited to attend the dissemination of the Kenyan 2023 TOURIST EXIT SURVEY REPORT by the Research Institute. The Institute conducted a tourist exit survey from the month of April 2023. The main objective of the study was to establish the perceptions of tourists on the Kenyan tourist products and experiences as well as identify the characteristics of the current tourists and their needs.
Tourist exit surveys are important tools to measure visitors’ expectations and satisfaction with products, services, activities, places and infrastructure that contribute to the visitor experience. Evidence of a satisfying experience for the visitor is a key indicator of tourism business performance hence the reason the Institute periodically conducts these studies.
My take home from the highlights:
1) A significant shift in age group of tourists to the younger band between 25 and 35yrs
2) Tourism interests are leaning more towards experiences
3) Most of the tourists used social media platforms like Wanderlust Diaries Ltd to organise their travels.
4) Most of the complaints about their experiences were directly related to the other ministries that affect tourism e.g. Ministry of Environment (garbage issues), Internal Security, Immigration and so forth. There is need to step up efforts to ensure all our tourists (both domestic and international) have an overall positive experience.
The Plan is to survey domestic tourists in first quarter of 2024. Wanderlust Diaries has reached out to TRI to support this exercise.

Today, we had the official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Council of Governors-Kenya and Wanderlust Diaries Ltd. The MOU covers the collaboration between the two institutions in County Tourism products Packaging and Marketing including development of County Tourism Circuits, as well as the development of sustainable local tourism to enhance County own source revenue.
In the session, it was agreed that the MOU be unpacked to identify activities and deliverables for implementation.
