Females cheetah are solitary, while males live together (unlike, say, a lion pride, which has multiple females). A female usually raises her cubs alone, hiding them in dens by day, and teaching them her hunting skills as they grow. Male cheetahs team up with their brothers or other males to form 'coalitions' - groups that defend a shared territory and team up to take down larger prey.Â

The distinctive hunting technique of pied kingfishers has earned the species a few records. Not only are they the largest hovering bird. But they are also the only kingfishers with the ability to perform a figure of eight wing stroke.
They hunt by hovering 50-65 feet above the water and then diving headfirst into the water. Pied kingfishers demonstrate spectacular speed and agility on the hunt.

African fish eagle. As their name suggests, African fish eagles are birds of prey that rely primarily on fish for their food. They catch slippery prey between the rough soles of their feet by gliding on the surface of the water. They then perch on high altitudes to eat their prey with their hook-shaped beaks. They also eat other species of marine animals such as frogs and other amphibians. They also eat birds found near the sea of water bodies such as storcks, ducks, and flamingos. They are also known to prey on monkeys and hyraxes.

Elephants gather sand and mud with their trunks and throw it onto their bodies, providing sun protection and repelling bugs. Sand helps dry and warm their skin in the cooler months, while mud helps to keep them cool in the hotter months.

Unlike lions, leopards are solitary creatures. Males are almost entirely solitary and females only break their solitude when they are raising cubs. But, like lions, leopards roar. Male leopards defend their territory by roaring and scent marking, while females use their roar to attract mates and call their cubs. A leopard roar is a rough rasp, like a handsaw cutting wood.

Fastest mammal on land, the cheetah can reach speeds of 60 or perhaps even 70 miles (97 or 113 kilometers) an hour over short distances. It usually chases its prey at only about half that speed, however. After a chase, a cheetah needs half an hour to catch its breath before it can eat. We know where to spot the fastest mammal book at www.jameelakenyasafaris.co.ke and we will take you there.
