Day from Nairobi

Geothermal hot spa should be in your bucket list for a day trip from Nairobi to the largest natural hot spa in the continent.

Its only two hours away from the buzzing Nairobi city life. The expansive, luxurious spa is located inside Hells gate National Park and is managed by Kenya Wildlife Service.For entry, you pay gate fees at the Kws Hells gate and again pay access fees at the Geothermal Olkaria management gate.

On your way from Nairobi, you will enjoy the beautiful scenic view of the great rift valley,make a stopper over at the smallest church in Africa before heading to Mahimahau, here at Mahimau I once stopped for lunch, the Nyamchom prepared by the Masai men was finger-licking good.

The water in the swimming pool at Olkaria is warm, the temperature is regulated through lagoons from hot to swimming-friendly temperatures, you can visit and see the whole process, and engineers are always ready on the ground.

The swimming pool is also made from concrete and Mazeras stones lining the walkway. The water has natural minerals. Hence, the swimming pool can not be built using ceramic tiles.
