This is the Base Camp of Lenin Peak, 7134m, one of the 3 giants of 7000 meters that we have in Kyrgyzstan. Can you imagine getting here on a motorcycle? Sleep in a tent being to 3800 m, under a sky full of stars with your motorcycle parked next to you?

Recently the winter expedition tour is finished. Our group from Spain spent 5 days in a frozen lake Son Kul in tents and in warm yurts (the national nomadic mobile house). Son-Kul is located in the northwestern part of the Naryn region at an altitude of 3016 meters above sea level.
Winter in this region is very cold, snowy with a lot of precipitation, which makes the lake inaccessible, since at this time all roads leading to the lake are closed and the lake is covered with a strong layer of ice.
The group reached the lake by ski and by horses and overcame all the natural difficulties and challenges.

Today we would like to share with you our short trip to Suusamyr valley. It is a small valley not far from Bishkek 130 km and located between three large ranges of the northern Tien Shan: Kyrgyz, Suusamyr-Too and Dzhumgal-Too.
The valley is notable for its stunning scenery: raging rivers and majestic mountain views. In winter, very popular backcountry, freeride, heliski and there is a ski base. In summer, tourists are welcomed by kymyz treatment (fermented mares milk).

There is an unique winter trip to Song Kul lake by horse back riding and ski. There is a chance to see and feel the kyrgyz outdoor nomadic life on traditional house – yurta (boz ui).

In winter, the lake freezes over and is covered with ice from November to May. The temperature of the lake in winter drops to -20 ° C (or more) and 200 days a year is covered with snow, which reaches up to 1 m.

⛷️Karakol ski base is 7 km from the town of Karakol in the Issyk-Kul region.

In Soviet times the base was used for training of the Soviet Olympic team. Karakol is a unique ski resort by its natural conditions. The base is located at an altitude of 2,300 meters above sea level, on the slopes of the Tien Shan, among the majestic coniferous forests.

📍Skiing season starts in November and lasts until April. All this time you do not have to worry about snow - it covers the ground with a dense layer.
