Description: The Lake Kol-Ukok
Lake Kol-Ukok is located in the north-eastern part of the mountain Terskey Ala-Too.The lake water is very cold. The depth of the lake is 17 m. On the shore of Kol-Ukok you can feel silence and calmness. In the vicinity of the lake, in the mountains, you can find a variety of animals: mountain goats, wolves, foxes, marmots. On the green meadows grow a lot of flowers, the legendary mountain edelweiss is among them. In the summer months there are yurts of shepherds, who fetch cattle to pastures (jailoo).
Description: The Lake Song - Kul
Song-Kul is the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan. Its area is 278 sq. km. It is situated in a valley between two mountain ranges at the altitude of 3016 m. The depth of Song-Kul reaches 14 m. The lake is inhabited by 10 species of fish, and on its shores you can see up to 70 species of birds, including waterfowl ones. The water of Song-Kul is unusually clean, and it should be noted that it can change its color, from sky blue on a clear day to purple on a cloudy day. The eastern part of the lake refers to Karatal-Zhapyryk National Wildlife Refuge. The surrounding landscape is essentially free of trees, the spacious meadows around the lake have been used as pastures (jailoo) since ancient times. Shepherds drive their cattle here during the summer months. At that time they live in a traditional house, the yurt.
Day 1. Transfer to Isakeev village with your guide, where you will start trekking tour to “Kol-Ukok” lake stay in Nomad’s yurt camp
Day 2.After breakfast continue the tour and cross the Ukok Pass (3845 m). Picnic outdoors. After crossing the pass, we stay in tent. Overnight and dinner in tent before the Akkiya village. Length of horse tour:7/8h.
Day.3 Early morning we start horse riding day. We go down to Kara Kujur river. Then, we go up to Ak Kiya pass at 3460m. Lunch, then down to Kichi Kara Kujur valley. Arrival to Dolon pass, overnight in a tent near the shepherd’s camp, 3030m above sea level. Length of horse tour:7/8h.
Day 4.After early breakfast ascend to KumBel Ata (3530 m) pass from where have a nice look for Baidulu valley and Son Koul lake. After picnic we descend to Koumdou-Sou pasture and stay in the yurts of local shepherd, 3019m. above sea level. Length of horse tour: 7/8h.
Day 5.Morning start on the horseback. On the way, we stop near mystical stones of Manas. Picnic near the shepherd’s yurt camp. In the afternoon arrival to camp. Accommodation in a yurt camp. Hiking to petroglyphs by foot. Then back to yurt camp. Dinner and overnight in a yurt camp. Length of horse tour: 6/7h
Day 6.After breakfast at Joloman Yurt camp, continue horseback tour western shore. Lunch in a yurt. Then, we go to the foot of Tuz Ashu pass. Overnight in tent, at 3019m. 7/8h horse riding.
Day 7.Early morning we go up to Tuz Ashu pass. Then we go down to Kilemche valley. Picnic outdoors. Transfer to Kochkor. Arrival in the evening. Overnight in the hotel 3*. Length: 4/5h of horse riding, 6/7h transfer.
