Siem Reap,Angkor Wat (in Khmer – ‘Temple City’) was built in the 12th century and was left untouched and abandoned for hundreds of years. It has undergone various restoration efforts upon its discovery in the 19th century and those efforts continue today.

In conclusion – for anyone who plans to visit Siem Reap and Angkor, be sure to give yourself a few days to explore the Angkor region. Angkor Wat is the jewel, but there are so many interesting temples that have features you can’t find anywhere else. Enjoy your wonderful trip.
