The Child Welfare Group (CWG) is a coalition of national and international NGOs and the government. CWG was established in 1993 and brought together local and international NGOs and government agencies to discuss all issues related to child welfare and children’s rights in Cambodia. The group is a network of NGOs, International Organizations (IOs) and Government organizations that prov

ides holistic support to children in difficult circumstances so that they have a hope and a future. CWG works as one voice to advocate for children’s health, education, welfare and rights in Cambodia. This open forum mobilizes local, international and government organizations working with children to meet and find solutions to serve the best interest of the children. Cambodia faces a large range of social and economic problems. Since children represent more than half of Cambodia’s population, these problems profoundly effect a child’s development and quality of life. These conditions can also lead to the exploitation of children, and in the worse cases, result in an increase of working children, child prostitutes, street children, disabled children, child offenders, drug addicts, and infants and children affected by HIV/AIDS
