I have just finished my Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) at the Build Bright University in Battambang.

I am co-founder of Building Bridges for Children, an NGO whose purpose is to enrich the educational opportunities for kids in my area of Cambodia. We believe education is a stepping stone to a better life. Our intention is to deliver an outstanding tour experience

at a reasonable and fair price that will support our community of children. I was born during the brutal regime of Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge. From the sadness of our past, to the resilience and determination for our future I have a fascinating authentic story to tell. I would like you to hear it from my view as a survivor of the Cambodian genocide while discovering the beauty of my country. Welcome to Cambodia!

Traditionally, apsara means the beautiful girls and they said to be supernatural female beings. In modern time, the apsara dance is performed by both men and women. psara dancing is at the heart of classical Khmer dance and it goes back to the time of Suryavarman II (1113-1145), a Khmer king and the builder of Angkor Wat. The art was performed only for the royal ancestors, but it was spread throughout Cambodia after the Khmer Rouge regime.

The history of Cambodian art stretches back centuries to ancient times, but the most famous period is undoubtedly the Khmer art of the Khmer Empire (802–1431), especially in the area around Angkor and the mainly 12th-century temple-complex of Angkor Wat, initially Hindu and subsequently Buddhist. Traditional Cambodian arts and crafts include textiles, non-textile weaving, silversmithing, stone carving, lacquerware, ceramics, wat murals, and kite-making.

. Every tour we make at Khmer Group Tours helps to sustain our school. We don’t want Building Bridges for Children school to be dependant upon ‘charity’, but we do need help. We think the best way you can help is to gather a group of friends together and take our tour. Our intention is to deliver an outstanding tour experience at a reasonable and fair price that will support our community of children. Most tour operations in Cambodia have the hidden hand of a first world person involved. My tours are authentic Khmer; a Khmer story told by a Khmer person. I would like you to hear it from my view as a survivor of the Cambodian genocide while discovering the beauty of my country. I was born during the brutal regime of Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge. From the sadness of our past, to the resilience and determination for our future I have a fascinating authentic story to tell.

Contact me and I will send you a brochure describing our tour. Welcome to Cambodia!
