Time to move the water buffalo.......
As a stop on our afternoon ride, we explored Bantaey Thom, a place few visitors, yet one of the most interesting temples, just 15 minutes outside of town (if you know how to find it :) Thanks to Scott Sharick for the detective work!) As you can see in the video, some of the Apsara and Devata heads have been looted, but many still remain intact.
Pagoda, under construction in the countryside.
Some sights from our afternoon ride. You've just got to love riding in Cambodia. Every turn, every stop and every new unexplored road is a new adventure and each stop for a cold drink is an opportunity to chat with friendly local folks!
I just love the old style bullock carts that are still being used today. A ride down any dirt road in the countryside (yet only minutes from down town Siem Reap), always offers up some intersting sights to see!
The seldom visited, East Gate (death gate) of Angkor Thom
Rain, and we really need it! Ahhhhh! Now it's time to test out the Yamaha XTZ 125 in the mud! .

Cambodian Novice Monk Flies a Quadcopter for the first time:
While out practicing with the Phantom drone today at the West Baraey, Patrick decided to let one of the young novice monks at a nearby pagoda, have a hand at the controls. The results were incredible. The young novice monk, who had never flown a drone before, did and incredible job… he seemed to be completely at ease and he was quickly able to control the flight using the dual joysticks!
Scott Sharick, just back from Bangkok, shot still photos during the flight which he should be posting soon.
Way too much fun for one afternoon!
More practice with the Phantom drone. Today I finally achieved a relatively soft landing. Thanks again to Patrick for not only letting me fly his phantom but also for his expert instruction.

Karl leaves me in the dust. Literally.
Stopping for gas
Getting gas in rural Cambodia is as easy as pulling off to the side of the road when you see glass bottles filled with gas. Karl tops off with a couple liters to keep us moving on the road during our second ride with the XTZ125s. I have filled up my tank two times so far to get a feeling for the distance I can go on a tank of gas. My average so far is 53 kilometers per liter or 125 miles per gallon. Better than I expected from the XTZ125.
