Banteay Thom

Banteay Thom temple is located about 2 kilometers north of Angkor Krao village. It is made of sandstone and has three towers that face East. Like Prey Prasat, it’s carvings and decorations suggest that Banteay Thom was built during the reign of Jayavarman VII. The name Banteay Thom refers to a temple surrounded by a great rampart.

The rampart, made of laterite, is 130 meters long and 3 meters high. Inside this temple is another gallery surrounding by a large moat.
