After it rained yesterday evening in the fields behind my house, there was some water in the fields and along the canal and the birds. This is the place where I used to farm and cowboy and buffalo and play in the rain in the fields and catch fish in the rice fields, etc.
Cambodia has two major seasons: dry months and rainy months. For the dry month, there are six months from November to April. The rainy season also lasts for six months, from May to October.

JB Story, 02 October 2024
My name is Sok Chamroeun, the Cambodian Tour Guide. Most of my friends call me JB.
I was born and raised in a tiny fishing village not so far from Angkor Wat (Cheasmorn Village, Meanchey Commune, Prasat Bakong District, Siem Reap Province).
Dreaming of learning English and one day becoming a Tour Guide at the Temple.
I walked 14km to my school every day, often carrying my belongings through the wet season floods. I learned English and had $3.50 in my savings when I turned up at the Tour Guide School in 2003.
Now, I am a freelance tour guide around Siem Reap, Cambodia, and I have decided to share my professional success by setting up a JB School (Free Education) in my village with my younger brother, Riel Ruon, and volunteers to teach English and Computer skills. About 350 kids come here every day after Public school to further their skills.
If you are looking for a guide with many years of experience who can share information about the history, temples, religions, culture, civilization, customs, and traditions of Cambodia, etc.,

Ancestor's Day Festival in Cambodia today. (Hungry Ghosts Festival).
Ancestor's Day (Pchum Ben) in Cambodia is a festival from 1st to 03rd October 2024; it's a religious traditional festival in Cambodia.
Pchum Ben is a unique traditional festival of Cambodia. we have to get up early morning in order to go to the monastery to Chant the Dhamma, and then we walk around the temple three times and put sticky rice balls on the ground for our deceased relatives; they might become the hungry ghosts to eat.
After we make offerings of foods, drinks, and some money to our parents and then to the monks at temple, after we give alms and pray for our deceased relative to receive merit.
In order to dedicate all good deeds we have done to all our deceased relatives. What is special is the time for families who live near and far to visit each other to celebrate together at home and in the monastery.
May we live happily, may all people be happy, may all our merits be passed on to all our relatives, and may all our meritious deeds produce good results.
