Kulen Adventurest Tour is created to introduce a recreation tour for people who love travelling to the countryside, exploring the jungle and historian places, visiting the mountain villager inhabitation and their livelihood, understanding the local culture and educational situation. Kulen Mountain (Leachy Mountain) was a birth place of the Angkor Empire. After hundreds years of abandon, this capit
al city become silent and little known to the outside world. Thus, it is a good place to adventure. Kulen Mountain is located approximately 60 Kilometers north of Siem Reap town, consists of ten village up there. It is the first capital city of the Angkor Empire and its history starts in 802 A.D, when the king Jayavarman II proclaimed independent from Java and declared himself as Devaraja (king of god). Many laterite and brick temples were constructed. A pyramid-shape mountain temple was dedicated to the god-king and worshipped along with numerous of deities. The new discovery shows the present of more than 380 temples covered by the jungle, many rock carvings, carving on the bed of the river (a thousand lingas and yuni), sandstone quarry, and a Khmer ceramic kilns site (Thnol Mrech) as well. The resident villagers are still living with their own culture such as cleaning forest for planting rice, collecting forestry crops/fruits, making leafs roof, and consuming some forestry vegetable. About five years before 2015, the forestry of Kulen Mountain was almost destroyed by illegal hunting and logging. It has made a big concern for the next generation and Cambodians together have to stop all these illegal activities. In the coming year, a forestry community has established for protecting the Kulen’s forest. This community has created two projects, called home stay and Motor driver communities, in order to support the villagers’ living standard. By these communities, villagers are able to get additional income by providing their services to the tourists as housing and motoring. Here we promise that you will get much enjoy on your tour and you will be a very important person who can support the local communities of Kulen!!!
