https://beyondangkor.org/index.php/Prasat_Kansaeng

This temple is situated within the moated area of Prasat Beng Mealea, just to the south of the western entrance, some 100m east of the causeway. The rectangular, sandstone construction is typical of a Jayavarman VII period dharmasala or 'rest-house' and so is assumed to have been added at a later date than the main temple site.

Prasat Kong Pluk ប្រាសាទគងភ្លុក BA
https://beyondangkor.org/index.php/Prasat_Kong_Pluk

This is located some 3.5 kms east of Prasat Beng Mealea, by what would have been the southeast corner of the baray, and just off the north side of the main east-west road. The site is a highly unusual one with its centre-piece being a crudely constructed, stepped laterite pyramid. The flat-topped pyramid is approximately 10m square and 5m high with some 15 shallow steps visible although more may lay buried. 4 staircases, roughly cut into the laterite, lead from each side to the top.

Phnom Preah Baht ភ្នំព្រះបាទ BA
https://beyondangkor.org/index.php/Phnom_Preah_Baht

Site of an active Buddhist monastery constructed on the foundations of an earlier site. To the front of the main vihara is a high laterite terrace while laterite blocks - possibly an older enclosing wall - encircle the compound.

The monastery houses a lintel and round colonette in a Sambor Prei K*k style as well as 2 others probably from the Khleang period. One of the latter features a central Buddha figure, re-carved at a later date.

Highly impressive sanctuary, in excellent condition due to extensive restoration by the TFAD, boasting a spectacular hilltop setting. The site features a lengthy monumental entranceway to the east, (c. 85 degrees), reminiscent of that at Prasat Preah Vihear, incorporating a series of steps and bordered by sandstone pillars. A khleang structure, (listed separately as Khleang Prasat Phanom Rung), lies on the north side of the entranceway while a small cruciform terrace is situated some 100m short of the flattened summit which houses the main shrine.

https://beyondangkor.org/index.php/Prasat_Sema_(Preah_Vihear)

The remains of a brick temple ruin that still has the door frames standing, mounted with an intricately carved lintel that appears to date to the Pre Rup period. The southern door frame contains an uncatalogued inscription that contains 10 lines and 25 lines of old text. To the east is also traces of a rectangular 300m x 160m man-made reservoir Baray Prasat Sema (Preah Vihear).

This is small ruined sandstone temple, where one can find a tower in a precarious state of ruin.

Scattered in the area, are a number of artefacts including a small sandstone temple antefix and a weathered octagonal colonette. The tower still presents some false doors, and 2 weathered and damaged lintels were reported to be in situ.

https://beyondangkor.org/index.php/Prasat_Non_Ku

Partially intact and restored sanctuary situated 650m due south of the important temple Prasat Hin Muang Khaek and some 3.5 km west of the arogyasala Prasat Muang Kao. The design is somewhat unusual and features a brick tower on a high, steep, sandstone-clad double-level platform creating a mini-pyramid effect. Much of the shrine's brick walls are now gone leaving a sandstone door-frame perched high atop the structure. The shrine would originally have been accessed by four doorways and double flights of steps.

K*k Veang គុកវាំង BA
https://beyondangkor.org/index.php/K*k_Veang

This small, east-facing brick tower sits behind a modern vihara within the compound of the active Buddhist monastery Wat Poti Veang. A lintel in situ is extremely damaged and could be of an 9th century period, attributed to the Kulen art style, though the overall temple tower has had modifications or additions made in the 10th century. Some minor brick reliefs can also be seen on the exterior walls.

An intact brick shrine with a double laterite enclosure showing vestiges of entrance gopuras and several associated, ruined structures. A large number of laterite blocks are scattered around the area while numerous sandstone artifacts and sculptures, as well as 3 inscriptions, were found here. The temple's history is complex and several monarchs, at different periods of history, appear to have added to or renovated the site implying the location was one of some importance or significance.

Prasat Banteay Ampil ប្រាសាទបន្ទាយអំពិល BA
https://beyondangkor.org/index.php/Prasat_Banteay_Ampil_(Siem_Reap)

The perfect starter site for would-be temple explorers, Prasat Banteay Ampil has a hidden and remote feel, yet access is relatively straightforward and it's only a short distance from Siem Reap, plus it's a classic-looking, root-clad ruin and you'll be pretty much guaranteed to be the only visitor.

Any remnants of a possiblee outer enclosure, moat or outer gopuras need verifying, so the site today consists of a laterite wall with east (main) and west gopuras and a false entrance on the south side.

Is a small laterite construction of approximately 4 arches at 9m width and 9m length situated some 400m southwest of Prasat Banteay Ampil (Siem Reap). This was the principal Angkor-period route connecting Prasat Beng Mealea, via Banteay Ampil and Prasat Chau Srei Vibol, with the capital at Angkor.

Another heavily restored arogyasala situated immediately south of the southwest corner of the large baray Nong Bua Rai. A second 'hospital chapel', Kuti Ruesi Ban Khok Muang, sits a mere 4 kms south of here corresponding to an ancient settlement site in the vicinity of Ban Khok Muang while this sanctuary would have served another significant-sized Angkorian settlement located at the eastern foot of Phanom Rung in the area of the aforementioned baray.

The site of a group of five brick temples built in a north-south alignment in two rows. The temple was most likely built between the 10th and 11th century by King Jayavarman IV and completed by Rajendravarman II. There are two lines of inscriptions in Sanskrit on one of the southern door frames that date to the early 12th century. In a few of the towers one can still find pedestals in situ and lintels still sit in situ however it is hard to tell as the lintels are all weathered and worn out. There are also two brick libraries to the east and the site is surrounded by a moat with an east entrance causeway.

https://beyondangkor.org/index.php/Prasat_Sra_Kamphaeng_Yai

The most substantial of Sisaket Province's Khmer sites, Prasat Sra Kamphaeng Yai consists of 4 standing towers and 2 'libraries; within a walled enclosure featuring 4 gopuras. 3 of the east-facing towers share a laterite terrace while a 4th sits behind the southernmost of the terrace shrines. It is likely that an additional tower was intended to be placed behind the northernmost of the 3. The central tower is a mixture of brick and sandstone elements while the remaining shrines, as well as the 2 'libraries', are in brick. The gopuras and enclosing wall are of laterite.

Prasat Bayon ប្រាសាទបាយ័ន BA
https://beyondangkor.org/index.php/Prasat_Bayon

Debate still rages over the precise identity of Bayon's iconic carved faces - Lokeshavara, Jayavarman VII himself or a combination of the 2, and indeed opinions still diverge over the exact number of towers and the probable number of original towers as well as the number of faces themselves. Today some 37 towers still stand and despite assumptions that there were originally 54, architectural evidence points to a total of 49. Baseless assertions of 216 faces are then deduced from 4 faces on each of the 54 towers although it can be seen today that, while most towers do possess 4 faces, some only have 3 or even 2.

Although today sadly ruined, this moated temple site, lying in the heart of modern-day Thma Puok Village, must have been a spectacular sight in its day. The wide 60-metre square moat is beautifully maintained (perhaps by monks from the bank side Wat?), and so large in proportion to the actual temple, that the layout almost resembles that of a small baray and mebon shrine.

The site of a modern temple built on the foundations of an ancient temple surrounded by a moat with an east entrance causeway and 100m to the east is a man-made reservoir. In situ sits a number of sandstone pedestal, however nothing much else remains. Inscription K.897 carved on a boundary stone in old Khmer text was discovered here and is apparently in situ.
