Learn that Columbus landed on the island in the 1400's. The island was first named Taphus (Beer Houses) and founded in 1666. The island history is thick with pirate lore. The island is now part of the U.S. Virgin Islands and has a population of approximately 20,000. As you travel the island, you will see numerous examples of Danish colonial architecture. Your guide will be pointing out all of the important highlights. Your fun transportation will take you to the highest point on the island, Mountain Top, at 1,547ft above sea level. There will be stops along the route for photo opportunities. Looking out at Mountain Top, you can see Magen's Bay Beach stretched out below. Rated as one of the top 10 beaches in the world, the view is amazing. The sightseeing portion of your excursion is approximately 2 hours, then you will be off to the beach. You have a choice of stopping at Magen's Bay, Sapphire or Coki Beach. The majority rules on which you will stop at.
