Preview: a soft Jeep tour experience which combines the best assets of Bolaven Highland!
Description: This jeep tour experience combines the best assets of Bolaven Highlaand to offer a great insight of untouched nature. During the journey, Mr. Khamsone will give you explanations about coffee plantations, from planting to roasting, finishing by a not-to-be missed coffee testing (Robusta, Arabica and Typica). Then, trekking along coffee plantations, lunch in a traditional local house, discovering of vegetables fields and relaxing or swimming time at some remote and impressive waterfalls! The all interspersed by fun and unforgettamble jeep tours.
Seasonality: This tour is possible all round year, but we recommend it indry season. The main interests of that tour are plantations (coffee and vegetables) nature (waterfalls surrounded by lush vegetation) and meeting with local people (coffee farmer and ethnic villages), which are interesting all over the year.
-From November to March: 80% of coffee plantations and 20% of vegetable fields (cucumber, carrot, cabbage). The means in dry season you can see the whole processing of coffee plantation on fields.
-From April to October: 30% of coffee plantations and 70% of vegetables fields. Inrainy season, you can see the first steps and coffee plantations when the coffee fruits is still green. Mr Khamsone will explain all the processing in order for you to have a real overview. Trekking is really not difficut, but it could be moree slippery and sportive during rainy season.
Khamsone’s point of view: Not exactly a half day tour (slightly longer and including lunch) though not as long as a full day tour, this activity is perfect to combine with the visit by minivan of the main waterfalls on the way from Pakse to Paksong (Tad Fan & Tad Yuang). It is addressed to classic who do not have a lot of time to explore the plateau, but who want to have a great overview of the trasures of that wild and beautiful region. This tour is made to meet the expectation of a large array of our guests, mixing easy level activities with relax and cultural experience (2h Jeep/1h Trek/1h Waterfalls/1h coffee roasting and visit of plantation). The trekking is not difficult but for our customers who are not in a good shape we can replace it with a walk inside the village and the visit of a refugee cave without changing the timimg.
Internal note: This tour is suitable for FIT and GIT up to 15 pax. Mr Khamsone has 5 Jeep to propose the tour to groups up to 15 pax, which means 3 pax per Jeep (plus driver, national guides and Mr Khamsone). If a group up to 18 pax is interested in this tour (4 pax per Jepp), it would be possible as long as they are not too tall or too big and, in this case, they should be well informed about the conditions in the vehicle, because they would be cramped and packed in the Jepp on the bumpy roads. For GIT gropus, the Jeep will follow one each other in the trails. The drivers are not English speakers but Mr Khamsone and the national guide will turn from one car to onother during the tour in order to provide information to everyone.
