The Lao New Year, called Pi May, is coming soon! Celebrated every year in Laos, people are looking forward to this festival. This year the celebrations will be from April 14 to 16, 2022! This year we will celebrate the year 2564 for Lao people.
This festival related to Theravāda Buddhism, is also celebrated in Burma, Cambodia, Thailand and among the Dai of Yunnan.
We are happy to welcome you during the Pi Mai celebrations at NamKhan Ecolodge, we will offer water games in our island and beach near the Khan River, activities such as Kayaking and Tubing will be possible.

Here at Namkhan Ecolodge, you can learn all about organic farming in one of our Organic Farm Experience workshops. You will learn the complete cycle from saving seeds to harvesting crops, including the importance of spacing, caring for crops and how to deter bugs and insects naturally.
Our Lao farmers have a wealth of knowledge from different sources such as family history, agricultural degree’s and from our international consultant, Jo-Anne Dorrington.
We offer a variety of packages in terms of length and depth of training to suit individual and corporate needs.

Namkhan Project and Organic Farm which is located in Luang Prabang in Northern Laos started in 2016 with the creation of an organic farm and the erection of 9 greenhouses enabling the production of vegetables all year round.
In recent times, our organic farm supplied our ‘Farm to Table’ restaurant along with a small number of hotels and restaurants in Luang Prabang looking for fresh organic produce but with the reduction of guests and many closures due to the Covid19 crisis we decided to take to the road and deliver to individuals during lockdown.
When tourism returns to normal we may not have the capacity to deliver around Luang Prabang and whilst our priority will always be to our guests staying and eating at our restaurant, our products will be available to purchase from our ecolodge.

Namkhan Ecolodge is located just 15 minutes drive from the UNESCO World Heritage City of Luang Prabang in Northern Laos and is the perfect setting for a retreat due to its remote appearance. Our ecolodge which is surrounded on 3 sides by the Nam Khan River is set in natural tropical gardens and offers the perfect opportunity to reconnect with nature and escape the general busyness of modern day life.
Retreats of 4 or 6 nights are available throughout the year and are often organised around traditional Lao or yogic celebrations to provide our guests with an authentic cultural experience.
Yoga and Qi Kong classes take place on our outdoor yoga platform which offers amazing views of the Nam Khan River, classes are taught in English with fully qualified teachers.
Our Organic Farm supplies fruit and vegetables to our ‘Farm to Table’ restaurant located in the heart of the ecolodge so whether you choose a yoga or detox retreat, you can guarantee the plant based menu will be fresh, healthy and balanced.
