Information letter November 2023
Dear motorcycle friends,
the new season has started and with it the bad accidents on the loop. What are the reasons for all these accidents? Wrong information about distances and travel times, wrong estimation of road conditions, little to no driving experience, technical defects in the vehicles, self-estimation, time management. So far in 2023, there have been 2 fatally unfortunate tourists on the Loop! That's 2 too many. Luckily, these were not customers of ours and we don't have to reproach ourselves. Unfortunately, other rental companies don't see it that way and also give out vehicles to tourists who can't drive. As a result, there are serious accidents on the track almost every day. Mad Monkey Motorbike is the only provider that does not give out vehicles to beginners and points out the dangers of the loop. For us, this is a moral duty and also a matter of course. The bad habit of bringing the scooters through the Kong Lhor Cave is unfortunately still to be found. Just last month, a local boat driver had to pay for this with his life. The tourists really wanted to ride the scooter on the boat through the cave. The boat capsized and the driver drowned! Does it have to be? I don't even want to talk about the pollution caused by leaking oil and petrol. And, who pays for the scooter? You!! Easy. Therefore, we have prohibited our customers from doing this by rental agreement!! Just for your protection. In addition, the route through the Natan valley is extremely dangerous and not manageable for beginners. 60km off road through the jungle and no service far and wide. There is also almost no cell phone or internet reception. It is therefore very difficult to organize help. We recommend doing the route in 5 days. It's relaxed and safe. You will have enough time to see and enjoy everything. You're on vacation and not on the run! We also have new scooters for you: HONDA PCX 160, HONDA Forza 350 and YAMAHA WR 155 (all built in 2023). I myself drive the Loop at least once a month, so I can always pass on the latest information to our customers. For people who want to do the loop and can't or don't want to ride themselves, we offer an easy rider service. Or we can do the whole thing by car. Our drivers/guides speak English and German. So, we are not only able to drive you safely also to explain a lot about the country, the people, the history and culture. We are looking forward to your visit.

Liebe Motorradfreunde,
die neue Saison hat begonnen und damit leider wieder auch die schlimmen Unfaelle auf dem Loop. Was sind die Gruende fuer all diese Unfaelle? Falsche Informationen ueber Entfernungen und Fahrzeiten, falsche Einschaetzung der Strassenverhaeltnisse, keine bis wenig Fahrerfahrung, technische Maengel an den Fahrzeugen, Selbstueberschaetzung, Time management.
Im Jahr 2023 gab es bisher schon 2 toedlich verunglueckte Touristen auf dem Loop! Das sind 2 zu viel. Zum Glueck waren dies keine Kunden von uns und wir muessen uns keine Vorwuerfe machen. Andere Vermieter sehen das leider nicht so und geben Fahrzeuge auch an Touristen aus, die nicht fahren koennen. Es kommt daurch fast taeglich zu schweren Unfaellen auf der Strecke. Mad Monkey Motorbike ist der einzige Anbieter, der keine Fahrzeuge an Anfaenger ausgibt und auf die Gefahren des Loops hinweist. Fuer uns ist das eine moralische Pflicht und auch eine selbstverstaendlichkeit.
Auch die Unsitte, die Scooter durch die Kong Lhor Cave zu bringen ist leider noch immer anzutreffen. Erst letzten Monat musste das ein Einheimischer Bootsfuehrer mit seinem Leben bezahlen. Die Touristen wollten unbedingt mit dem Scooter auf dem Boot durch die Cave. Das Boot ist gekentert und der Fahrer ertrunken! Muss das sein?? Von der Umweltverschmutzung durch auslaufendes Oel und Benzin moechte ich erst gar nicht reden. Und, wer bezahlt den Scooter?? Du !! ganz einfach. Daher haben wir es unseren Kunden per Mietvertrag untersagt das zu tun!! Nur zu eurem Schutz.
Ausserdem ist die Strecke durch das Natan valley extrem gefaehrlich und fuer Anfaenger nicht zu bewaeltigen. 60km off road durch den Dschungel und kein Service weit und breit. Es gibt auch so gut wie keinen Handy oder Internetempfang. Hilfe zu organisieren ist daher sehr schwierig.
Wir empfehlen die Strecke in 5 Tagen zu machen. Das ist entspannt und sicher. Ihr habt genug Zeit um euch alles anzusehen und zu geniessen. Ihr seit ja im Urlaub und nicht auf der Flucht!
Wir haben auch neue Scooter fuer euch im Angebot: HONDA PCX 160, HONDA Forza 350 und YAMAHA WR 155. (Alle Baujahr 2023). Ich selbst fahre den Loop mindestens einmal im Monat, so dass ich immer die neuesten Informationen an unsere Kunden weitergeben kann.
Fuer Leute, die den Loop gerne machen wollen und selbst nicht fahren koennen oder wollen bieten wir einen easy rider service an. Oder wir machen das ganze auch mit dem Auto. Unsere Fahrer/Guides sprechen englisch und deutsch. So sind wir in der Lage euch nicht nur sicher zu fahren sondern auch sehr viel ueber das Land, die Leute, die Geschichte und Kultur zu erklaeren.
