A collaboration between , HIMA ANFEH, GAIA-heritage & the local communities in Anfeh resulted in the creation of the label “Made In Anfeh” to be attributed to local artisanal crafts and culinary products.

The spherical stones found in the ruins of Castrum Nephin were employed in trebuchets to inflict heavy damage against defensive walls and towers.

The stones may have been used by the Mamluk armies who attempted to take down the Crusader fortress in the late 13th century.

The site is currently being excavated by Department of Archaeology and Museology - University of Balamandand AUB Archaeological Museum in collaboration with the General Directorate of Antiquities.

On the occasion of Textour project’s second General Assembly which took place in Cyprus, an MOU has been signed between the Municipality Of Anfeh - بلدية أنفه and the Coummunity Council of Fikardou, a protected mountain village of Cyprus.

Anfeh and Fikardou are joint together as one of the 8 pilot sites for the testing and first implementation of the sustainable tourism management tools to be developed by TEXTOUR.

This memorandum will reinforce the exchange of know-how on cultural heritage and tourism management and strengthen the cooperation on matters of cultural tourism in Anfeh and Fikardou.

TExTOUR Project is an EU-funded project which co-designs pioneering and sustainable cultural tourism strategies to improve deprived areas in Europe and beyond.
