إحتفلت وزارة السياحة وبلدية دوما - البترون بإعلان بلدة دوما من أفضل القرى السياحية للعام 2023 ، بحضور الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة للسياحة زوراب بولوليكاشفيلي. وخلال الإحتفال أطلق وزير السياحة حملة وزارة السياحة بعنوان "مشوار رايحين مشوار" لصيف 2024. وتخلل الإحتفال تدشين أعمال الترميم سوق دوما القديم بتمويل من دولة قطر عبر صندوق قطر للتنمية، حيث حضر سفير قطر في لبنان الشيخ سعود آل ثاني والمدير العام لصندوق قطر للتنمية خليفة بن جاسم الكوراني. كما أقيم إستقبال شعبي للمشاركين تخللها جولة في السوق، وقد تمّ إزاحة الستارة عن اللوحة التذكارية لهذا الحدث ولوحة أخرى لترميم السوق بمسعى من النائب جبران باسيل وجمعية بترونيات.

The Ministry of Tourism and the Municipality of Douma-Batroun celebrated the announcement of Douma as one of the best tourist villages for the year 2023. The Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organisation Zurab Pololikashvili was present at the celebration. During the event, the Minister of Tourism launched the Ministry of Tourism’s campaign entitled “A Journey, a Journey” for the summer of 2024. The celebration also included the inauguration of the restoration work on the old Douma Market, which was funded by the State of Qatar through the Qatar Fund for Development. The Ambassador of Qatar to Lebanon, Sheikh Saud Al Thani, and the Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development, Khalifa Bin Jassim Al-Kurani, were present at the event. A popular reception was also held for the participants, which included a tour of the market. Additionally, a memorial plaque for this event and another plaque for Douma market restoration, with the efforts of MP Gebran Bassil and the Batrouniyat Association, were unveiled.
