Laqlouq is a warm and glorious alpine paradise in the summer. Fresh air, rugged beauty, a charming pedestrian village, is waiting for us.
The sky and the nature of the region from “kornet el jraid” hill located at 1914 m above sea level are not to be missed. There are breathtaking views overlooking the river "Nahr Ebrahim" to be remembered forever.
Our trail is uphill and downhill for about 12km. We will walk for a couple of hours to reach the great Iron Oak forest in Ehmej”Al-Ozor" then Ehmej village.
Ehmej is the perfect destination for your adventure. Stunning views and friendly villagers make Ehmej an ideal destination for escaping from the city.

Where:

In The Kadisha Valley (also known as Qadisha Valley, Ouadi Qadisha, or وادي قاديشا in Arabic) lies within the Becharre and Zgharta Districts of the North Governorate of Lebanon. The valley is a deep gorge carved by the Kadisha River, also known as the Nahr Abu Ali when it reaches Tripoli. Kadisha means "Holy" in Aramaic, and the valley, sometimes called the Holy Valley, has sheltered Christian monastic communities for many centuries.

History:
Annoubine’s history dates back to the 7th century. It has monasteries and sanctuaries spread all over the gorge, in the form of caves or churches.

Hiking at Dhour El Chweir – El Chweir - Khenchara with DALE CORAZON - LEBANON EXPLORERS!!!

Dhour El Choueir (summit of a mountain) is a typical Lebanese town with old caves, mills, ancient bridges, water springs, and an old souk with stone-paved passages, and beautiful houses with old traditional arches. It lies slightly north of the main Beirut - Damascus highway. It overlooks the city of Beirut and the Mediterranean Sea.

It is one of Mount Lebanon's favored summer resorts. Dhour El-Choueir is important for its August yearly carnival, honoring Lebanon's emigrants.
The Greek Catholic monk Abd Allah Zakhir set up an Arabic language printing press using movable type at the monastery of Saint John at Choueir, the first homemade press in Lebanon. He personally cut the type molds and did the founding of the elegant typeface. He created the first true Arabic script type in the Middle East. The first book off the Zakhir press was printed in 1734; this press continued to be used until 1899.

Qadisha, one of the deepest and most beautiful valleys in Lebanon, is indeed a world apart. “Qozhaya" is of Syriac origin and means "the treasure of Life". Monastery of Qozhaya (Deir Mar Antonios Qozhaya - دير مارانطﻮنيوﺱ ﻗﺰحيا) sits on the opposite flank of the Qadisha from Qannoubin Monastery; it was first built at the beginning of the fourth century. It was several times looted, set on fire and razed to the ground, but there still remain vestiges dating back to the seventh century.
The Monastery is truly a national center of prayer, pilgrimage and tourism.

DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:

The Faraya-Chabrouh Dam has a height of 63 meters. The reservoir has a capacity of some 8 million cubic meters and is some 1300 meters in length.

Chabrouh Dam will be the perfect place for night hike, will be a moderate one with some uphill, will walk around the borders of the lake; will have enough time for fun, photo shooting, and rest.

In the middle of the trail, will go up to reach the famous rock where we are going to be; there will be able to contemplate that beautiful landscape, breathtaking views to be remembered forever.

As usual, we will end this night’s adventure by a cozy gathering around a fire camp for a homemade mankoushe, tea.
